More pictures from our antiqueing fun last weekend. Click on the picture for a closer look. Can you tell I'm a dish freak? I love the ones with the pale blue rim and the roses in the center. See the blue and white ones like Rhondi has? And the little cottage picture reminded me of Becky. Penny would love the red transferware, and the chicken salt and pepper shakers with them!:>) It was like you were all there with me...at least in spirit! Victoria is home this weekend for spring break so we won't be going out. Just hanging around at home enjoying having her here. Have a great weekend. Spring is here! (I officially declare it:>)
I love the ivy ones and sadly passed them by when the were affordable in antique stores along with not buying Fire King when it was ten cents a plate (pre-Martha making the price soar). What a lovely bunch of dishes.

those green and white ones would look great for Saint Patrick's Day!!
ReplyDeleteAll of the dishes are beautiful, Kathy, but what really caught my eye was the green and white checked tablecloth with the hand embroidery. I am an absolute nut for vintage linens:-)
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great weekend.
Rhonda
I Love antiquing too. We mostly go from April to Nov. or when the weather turns. I like collecting dishes, music boxes and anything unusual. Your stash is great. Linda
ReplyDeleteOh they are all gorgeous. Love the checked tablecloth too
ReplyDeleteAlison
I think you were channeling me too Kathy~there is not a dish there that I don't like!! What a fabulous store~did you buy anything? I'd need a lot of restraint!

ReplyDeleteI saw you Feb. rain post...I feel the same, I love blogging, but it is the www (world WIDE web). My family is having a bit of rain fall too...we are in Michigan and things are tough here. God is good and HE always provides...in His time. I pray you found some wisdom...we are seeking Him for wisdom as well.
Love all those dishes. You guys had a bunch of fun, I can tell. Mimi

Kathy, I adore the Green Ivy dishes! Right on time for St. Patrick's Day! Your treasures made me smile knowing all of these beautiful, delicate treasures have found a home where they will be loved, nurtured and used!
ReplyDeleteYou inspire me to go "Antiquing!" and soon!
Hi Kathy
ReplyDeleteYou saw some of my dainty blue! I've never seen it in any stores. I need a new creamer and cups. I don't suppose you happened to look at the price? I would have been so excited to see it!
Hugs, Rhondi

ReplyDeleteYou and I are for sure kindred spirits. I LOVE dishes, too. Do you know that that is the first thing I buy for my space in the shop? Yup, dishes. Maybe there is something deep seeded that draws me to them. I love all that you found. Yes....the cottage is right up my alley - well, so to speak.
I love you!!!
xx
Becky

Just wanted to say hi.
ReplyDeletelove, bj
I enjoyed touring the shop with you. It was so much more fun than cleaning ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love all your finds! They work well together!
ReplyDeleteOoooo, how pretty! I love the ones with the light blue rims, too. Hope you are enjoying your visit with your daughter, and some spring-like weather, too. :)
ReplyDeletexoxo,

Beautiful ...isn't it fun to just look. I think that's half the fun. I love the 'Shelley' china ...I have a collection of three Shelley tea cups in different colors in the pattern you show. I'd like to have a whole set of the different colors ...but my wallet says no!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
Thanks, Kathy, for coming by to see my yellow room. I didn't know you were doing one, too. You are right in that the yellow really warms up a north room. I can't believe I had it green in there so long...I want crown molding really bad in there and plantation shutters..then I'll quit "wanting".....nawh....never!!
ReplyDeletexo bj
These are all so gorgeous! I need a day of antiquing/thrifting...to look for some dish itmes. I too just love a pretty piece of dishware!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Sue
