I'm heading for work in about 5 minutes, but I thought I would share a little fall decorating I did yesterday after shopping the house:>) This little bust was a garage sale find this summer. I couldn't resist her. Sitting on a stack of covered books she adds a little sweetness to a corner of the hutch in the dining room.
This beautiful tureen was a gift from a dear friend. Every time I see it I think of her. Filled with bright apples it adds a pretty touch. The rest of my day? Work, a run to the feed store for chicken feed and then settling in for a marathon of sewing some of the house and home pillows. Oops! Gotta run, I'll catch up with everyone later. What are you doing today?
Kathy
ReplyDeleteThe tureen is beautiful
G'Mornin!! How is your week going so far? By the sounds of it, you are busy sewing! Your pillows are adorable, Kathy!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the fall touches!!

What am I doing today? I'm staying home! Had a cancelation of something that was going to fill the day and now I plan to fluff and play with things at home. After I get a bit of the routine work done! Your fall decor is nice - love the little girl and the tureen. So nice! Thanks for sharing them today. ~Adrienne~
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea to use something fun and oh, so elegant to store your apple in.
ReplyDeleteLove the statue also. The simple branches tie it all together.
Now I think I need to do some "shopping" around my house and think about fall decor. You've inspired me (but then, you usually do!!) :)
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy,
ReplyDeleteI love the bust and tureen. It's nice that you are using them in your home decor. I need to shop my house once in awhile too and save some $$$! lol!
You have alot on your plate today. Do you have the chickens soley for your own eggs or do you sell them?
Today I have to re~stock our home with food. Junk for Em and Kevin and healthy for me and hubs. I wish the junk weren't here, it is such a temptation.
My Dad gets the results of his PET scan Friday and my doctor has increased my anti depressants as all I can do is sleep.
Maybe I need a job...

Love the sweet girl Kathy! My day today was suppose to be at the new house painting. I drove 45 minutes to get there this morning only to find out the floor refinishers didn't complete the job yesterday and they were working on it this morning. So I couldn't get into the house to work. So I am back home catching up on laundry, blogs and doing some more packing.

I've been trying to decorate for fall too. So many other things keep popping up that I have to do though! I plan on painting my bed frame today. I took it out to the porch a couple of days ago. I want it back in my room by tonight! I'm tired of sleeping on mattresses on the floor! LOL
ReplyDeleteYour fall decor is looking pretty.
I am working on a quilt for our newest grandbaby, little Spencer Andrew. He is due the end of November and I am going to a baby shower next weekend so want ot get it finished.

What a treat it would be to be served hot soup from that tureen. You do have the right touch in decorating. I do like those little birds too.
ReplyDeleteThe sun is shining!!! So I went and got a flu shot and now my arm is kiling me....as for my storm post what I didn't say was this happened years ago when daughter was living home and we had a huge snow storm....the Boss panicked and they went out to buy a generator....."thee generator"....they were gone hours looking for one in stock somewhere....they pulled into the driveway when they got home and the garage door went up....Yup...power was back on then too....you think we would have learned....
ReplyDeleteOh she is s sweet one! I would have had to take her home too! You know I love tureens especially white ones! I love how you filled this one with apples.
ReplyDeleteWell, school has been cancelled yesteray and today due to the flooding. It was finally sunny and dry today so I went out and mowed the front and back yards since the grass was about up to my knees with all the rain we've had! All the neighbors ran outside to mow today...it was funny. Other than that I'm playing with pumpkins.

Great photos, I wspecially love the appls in the tureen.
ReplyDeleteToday for me it is babysitting the nearly 2 year old Riley. So sweet

Happy Autumn!! I love decorating with apples in the fall. I'm off this week and stuck with no car yet again... so all I'm doing is baking and reading pretty blogs. Also trying to put some finishing touches on my website before my online shop's opening on Saturday!

ReplyDeleteYour tureen is beautiful. Great job decorating.
That little girl is so adorable. It's starting to feel a lot like fall here in Utah. Mimi
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy,
ReplyDeleteLove the fall touches...it is not feeling too fallish here today. Warm and muggy. I really need to get to work on my front porch and bring out the fall wreath, add pumpkins, mums etc. I still have not done anything! Ha!

I hope you have a wonderful day Kathy. I love your touches of Fall, and that tureen is gorgeous, what a great idea to put apples in there, and those cute little birds...do I spy a Fall leaf too?
ReplyDeleteToday I am picking up cards at the printer for a new project, painting a few more watercolor pumpkins, baking bread to go with some soup I made last night, and going to the post office.

Love your fall touches! The red apron is adorable!

Hey Kathy, I was going to start painting the outside of my shop yesterday, started working on some shades and the day flew by! Have to go into town today and maybe when we get back I can start the painting, but you never know what the day is going to bring! Hope you had a good day at work!

That bust is just so sweet and I have been wanting a tureen like that one. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI'm straightening in preparation for vacuuming -- two of my least favorite things to do. :( So I'm also sitting down every half hour to visit some blogs. lol But the air is crisp today, and the sun is shining, and I think I'll take a walk this afternoon...
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend, dear Kathy!
Hey, sugar, just watch for my blog post tomorrow. All the aprons will be on there. You'll get a good "peek" at them. Yours are stunning though.

ReplyDeleteHi again....
ReplyDeleteYou asked about the floor in my studio. I am just going to paint the subfloor. I didn't want to add another layer of flooring, because eventually down the road, when we sell this house (in about 4 years) I want to be able just to carpet it.
