Well, That is where I would like to be! The truth is I am enjoying a summer at home and dreaming of finding a little cottage by the Great Lakes, or better yet, the ocean to do nothing but sit. Forced relaxation. SPF 50 sunscreen (come on, I'm a redhead, I learned long ago that I don't have a drop of melanin in my skin!) Listening to the surf, finding shells and beach glass, long walks along the beach with Earl and my morning coffee. *Sigh* Not happening any time soon. Our school schedules overlap and run at different times so we aren't both off at the same time. Not until the end of August just before Labor Day. It will be our 30th anniversary then and I hope we can get away. So I went to Flickr and collected some gorgeous photos to dream over. Sun and sand and waves sound sooo good right now....
I am actually posting this on Earl's laptop, our PC did a crash dump this week (that's what the blue screen said!) and our dear brother in law is looking at and trying to save it. Of course it has all my photos, files and programs on it, and E doesn't want me junking up his laptop with all those things so I'll just have to wing it until I get it back. The lazy days have me firmly in their grip but I am planning some sewing projects and still need to paint some of the trim in the kitchen, all in between classes of course. I hope everyone is having a great summer, I'm linking with Mary's Mosaic Monday:>)
absolutely love this mosaic! such wonderful images...I live five minutes from the beach and rarely get there, sad huh?
ReplyDeleteThe beach does sound wonderful right about now! I am truly a beach/lake/water person and Mr. Comforts is a mountain person...
ReplyDeleteWe live in the mountains...hmmmmm
Maybe the NEXT home will be on the water...

Being a Floridian, I love this! I love the water and shelling!

A wonderful beach mosaic. I love all the photos, going to the beach is one of my favorite things to do.
ReplyDeleteI'm in love with this mosaic. Perfect for the summer and the beach. All the wonderful shells. Well done!
ReplyDeleteYour photography is gorgeous. I am missing the ocean so much right now. It was great to have a peek through your mosaic. Hope your computer problems aren't too awful.
ReplyDeleteI am loving the staycation from my computer!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful mosaic! I love all these images of the beach.

ReplyDeleteOh I just love the beach....I've never vacationed anywhere else! I'd live in a cottage by the ocean if I could....
ReplyDeleteI hope you get to take that little trip for your big 30th anniversary!
Good luck with the computer issues! NOT FUN!
OH! Sounds like a dream vacation to me!
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect summer mosaic! I grew up at the beach and I miss it so much, even though I live only an hour away. There's something special about the shore, whether lake or sea, that gets into your blood and never leaves! ::Jill
ReplyDeleteJust fabulous ... it's a superb collection of summer images.
ReplyDeleteLike Penny, I am such a water/beach person. When our grands were all small, the whole family went every summer for a week on the beach at Corpus Christi. We had such a great time...as they have grown, tho, they all seem to want to go in all directions. So, Mr. Sweet and I just go with the flow !! :))
ReplyDeleteI love your beautiful shell mosaic..
you and i have the same dream :) the pictures are beautiful. i can hear the waves, birds, and feel the warmth of the sun. thank you :)
ReplyDeleteblessings,
aimee

I adore rocky coastlines!!!! That sand castle is fabulous also. Great mosiac.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week!
May all your summer dreams come true when you finally fit the beach in August:-)

Oh, this is so enchanting. What magnificent photographs you chose for your mosaic. I love the beach. I'm glad that it is nearby because this summer my vacations consist of daycations. I'm sorry that your computer crashed. The dreaded crash. I try to backup, but I am so disorganized. When I get in the creative zone I abandon organization, especially on my computer.
ReplyDeleteWell, other than the computer issue, it sounds like you are enjoying lazy dazy summer day. I can't wait to see what your sewing projects bring.
Have a lovely day, and Happy Mosaic Monday.
Karen
Yep, dreamin right there with you, we love to ride our motorcyle along the water and look at all the wonderful lake homes and I just sit on the back of the bike droolin.
ReplyDeleteYou said you went back to school? WOW, that's awesome. What is your degree going to be in? Just curious.

A lovely collection of summer things in your mosiac. I know how you feel with red hair. Our oldest son has it and he cannot stay in the sun for very long before he looks like a lobster.
ReplyDeleteHi Leann!
ReplyDeleteI'm back in school full time for graphic design/digital media design.
Sorry about your computer! When mine crashed last year I had to use my daughters and she wouldn't let download any photos onto hers LOL!
ReplyDeleteYour mosaic is beautiful! That sand castle is just amazing! I hope you guys will be able to take a little getaway to the beach for your anniversary. It'll be nicer then anyway - not so many people.
Manuela
Sorry to hear about your computer woes, but you gave us a beautiful mosaic even when working under a big handicap.
ReplyDeleteGreat images!
ReplyDeleteGreat beach pics! Hope you get to go! I walked down to the bay for a while today, it was hot!
ReplyDeletePretty! I would love to have my toes in sand right now!
ReplyDeleteWe're heading to a cottage on an island on Lake Michigan this weekend. I'm so glad I found your blog. I'm your newest follower. Thank you so much for entering my little give-away. It enabled me to to find you.
ReplyDeleteHave the loveliest day!

The beach is totally overeated....I mean who really likes sitting in a beach chair with your feet in the water...maybe a cooler next to your chair filled with food and drink...I prefer egg salad, cherry tomatoes and iced tea...a good book to read...no phones to answer..and the sun feeling so good on your skin...I mean is there really anybody that really enjoys that?
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures you posted! Even just looking at them makes me relax! :) I truly hope you get to have that vacation in August~ some time away can make such a difference!
ReplyDeleteI also hope your computer is okay, and that it can be fixed!
Have a beautiful day! :)
Blessings,
Jenni
P.S. I love your blog design~ both the banner and the red polka-dots on the sidebars! :)
Ahhh...the beach a wonderful peaceful place to be...wish I was there again myself! Love it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Mosaic!!
Very, very pretty. Love all the photos. I love beach stuff!
ReplyDeletea cottage by any body of water suits me just fine - just as long as the weather is nice and cool. one in england at the coast would be great, however we did find one up in no. cal (my current post) that is a dreamy little farmhouse. if only i had an extra 400k sitting around.......
ReplyDeleteso good to dream, isn't it?
xoxo

I'm pretty sure those petunias are called candy cane. They were a proven winner that I got at home depot this year. They smell pretty good too. Mimi
ReplyDeleteJust stopping in to say hello...
ReplyDeleteI left my camera outside (never EVER have done that) and the sprinkler DROWNED it. I am soooo heart sick. I hope it can be fixed but I have my doubts.
THIS HAS BEEN ONE OF THOSE DAYS!!
bwaaaaaaa
Kathy, I do hope you and Earl can get away for something special on your anniversary. The photos you chose are so soothing. I can almost smell the salt air. I grew up by water. Visiting any location with water is always soothing salve to my soul. Hoping and praying for you to experience some yourself soon.
