I know, I know, you are saying it is too early for Christmas. Nope, I don't believe it is. I certainly haven't unloaded the Christmas boxes yet, but I am looking forward to Christmas this year and the decorations will play a huge part in it. With economics what they are, a lot of our Christmas spirit will depend on decorating and baking. Not a lot of $$ for piles of gifts, though we won't go without a few special things. Christmas isn't all about the presents anyways, right!? So what is your style of decorating for Christmas? Are you doing anything different this year? New colors? New decorations?
I found a few pictures on BHG.com that I love. I am already thinking about different ways to spice up the decorations. I don't like the same thing all the time. If you know me, you know I love red, like the room above!

I'd love to do lots of natural things this year -- moss, nuts, pine cones in bowls and lots of green and gold. Oh, and cinnamon. LOVE the smell of cinnamon for Christmas!
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend, Kathy! Hope you are feeling better. :)

Beautiful pictures! I'm looking forward to decorating for Christmas. I usually go for traditional, but love all of the pink things. I'm not sure Phillip would go for it though...hehee. I saw your question about the vintage type scrapbook supplies. Most of the paper is from Hobby Lobby, but I got the stickers from here:

I love their products!

I love the first photo! What a pretty room?!
ReplyDeleteLast year, I did a mish-mash of colors in turquoise, red, pink, and green (primarily). There are a few photos on my old blog, but here's a direct like to some of my ornaments and stuff: http://thechiclife.blogspot.com/2007/12/chicken-vesuvio-and-tree-trimming.html
I like traditional colors, but I love adding the fun pops of color, too, so I tried to blend them all together.
I'll probably just use the same colors I used last year, but colors are always a tough decision.

What inspirational photos! Since we're in a new place, we're haven't really decided what to do. Our stash is mostly red, pink and white, very festive.
ReplyDeleteWe have a radio station here in central Ohio that begins playing Christmas music after Halloween! So every time I get in the car, I sing along. It's never too early for the Christmas spirit!
I like to do different things every year or every other year--I do like change. Last year I did soft greens and blues on the tree. This year I may do something different---I even thought of sunflower garland on the tree for this year, but perhaps that would be tooooo country in flavor!
ReplyDeleteIt is NOT too early for gorgeous pix of pinkness and light and beauty, my sweet chick!! I'm loving it so do NOT stop.
ReplyDeleteSmooches,
Connie
Those are beautiful rooms! I usually tweak the same look. Update a little. I am a traditionalist with a twist :-)

Lovely rooms to get some great ideas from. I like glitter, silver and the tradition red and green. I have a few boxes of decorations so I can "play" a little when I decorate. Sometimes I get everything out, sometimes I don't.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what I'll do. I will be decorating the Saturday after Thanksgiving. I put up early and take down the day after Christmas:)
We have a real tree and it's ready to go after that time.
Warmly,
Deb
Such beautiful spaces for Christmas. I love the one of the room with all the french doors and big windows. I was in a place yesterday called Christmas City. They had dozens of Christmas trees all done in different themes. My tree is a memories theme, because I have so many ornaments from years before filled with special memories. If I were rich I would have a different theme tree in every room. Karen
ReplyDeleteLove the look of the first pic Kathy. I am taking what decor I have and trying to use it differently this year .
ReplyDeleteNo, can't get into the pink :-) Last year I switched to apple green and red plus some natural accents. I'll probably stay with that and just add one new element. I do like shiny glittery things so I may try to make a few things that are...well shiny and glittery! LOL

Well, I WAS going to pull out our old tired worn out things...
ReplyDeleteBut NOW I'm going to copy these pictures exactly :) !!!
That top one takes my breath away.
I was going to say that I was making you cry a second time LOL you beat me to the punch line.
I agree with you about the second room but I need something more warm for Christmas. Lots of wood and green and red for me! :)
ReplyDeleteI love your blog... so pretty.
Gorgeous photos! I haven't begun to decorate yet although the Santa Claus parades start this weekend which usually makes me want to come home and pull out all the garlands :-) We always decorate very traditionally - burgandy/gold/green/plaid but this year my daughter will be decorating her first apartment and her style is more like your last photo - lots of white and pink. So I get to enjoy both themes this year.
ReplyDeleteOh, Kathy, my family would faint and fall over dead if I tried to change anything up very much. I like the traditional Christmas, colors, Santas, reindeer...the

The photos are lovely, tho...
Hi,my name is Shelley! With a very small home and a large family,I am just thinking,Where am I going to put the tree?????(smile)
ReplyDeleteThe pictures you posted are beautiful.

Oh dear is it that time of year already! Such wonderful inspiration in each photo!
ReplyDeleteI just can't believe it's that time of year already. It appears as one gets older ...the years slip by quicker.
ReplyDeleteI think I'm going to go for less this year. I just finished a magazine article which talked about doing less and enjoying more! I think it's a wonderful approach to the holidays! We'll see though! I'm totally leaning towards the first photo. I love that garden room!
Gorgeous photographs!!!! I'm not sure what I'm going to do this year. I'm leaning towards different...I love a warm look at the holidays which is what I usually do but my taste if leaning more towards newer styles so it will be interesting to see what I end up doing!
ReplyDeleteThese images are beautiful. I am a traditionalist when it comes to Christmas decorations. I love the reds, greens and golds. I'm looking forward to decorating this year, too.
ReplyDeleteI hope you're feeling better.
Loved these ideas! I am thinking of new things for the tree this year! Spent some time shopping this weekend and bought some new items. When I get the tree up I'll share more. I'm a red girl too! Hugs,Jan@daylilylane
ReplyDeleteAt my house this year, the tree will only be decorated with white lights, little crosses made of sticks from the yard, and pretty little clay angels. I'll set up the manger scene out in the front yard as well. I really want me and my family to focus on the true meaning of Christmas this year, as opposed to the commercial and fanciful occaision it has become. Like you said, Christmas is not all about presents galore. It's about celebrating the birth of Jesus, and remembering what his life and death did for us.
ReplyDeletePretty pictures! Love that big wreath over the mantel.
