I am throwing this photo in just because I love it. Same teeny vase ( I LOVE this vase!) but I found the broken off geranium in the parking lot of the farmers market when we got my Mother-in-law her mothers day flowers. I couldn't just let it lay there and die!
Lilacs bloom just before my birthday. I love them. I don't think I have ever lived in a house that didn't have these. Never. When they bloom I fill as many vases and pitchers and vessels as I can with them until the scent fills the house. I have done this since I was a little girl. I just love spring flowers.
I too love spring flowers...and I love bringing them indoors...sometimes they simply need to be "rescued" as you did with the geranium.
ReplyDeleteLilacs are some of my most special favourites...mine aren't ready to bloom yet, but soon!!
Yes, life! I was a little girl who did that too :)
ReplyDeleteMy lilac didn't do hardly anything this year! It is so hard to wait a whole year when something doesn't do right.
I love your little vase and photos!
oh your flowers are absolutely LOVELY!! i especially miss and LOVE the lilacs!! thank you so much for sharing!! :) Have a WONDERFUL day!!
ReplyDeleteMorning Kathleen! I couldn't agree more about the flowers especially Lilacs! I'm keeping an eye on mine so I too can cut and bring in! We have some pretty purple ones with with edges! Love Love Lilacs!!! Have a great week - Jeannette HAPPY BIRTHDAY LAUREN!
ReplyDeleteI love all of your flowers. They are beautiful. I had to laugh when I read where you just HAD to pick up that flower. Sounded just like me! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteThat is the sweetest vase! I love lilacs too. I planted one last year and it bloomed. This year it has grown twice the size, but no blooms :-(
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Penny
I love little vases, too! I have a post about my lilies of the valley in a tiny crystal coffee container my inlaws gave me as a souvenir when they visited Turkey. I love your little vase!
ReplyDeleteKathy
ReplyDeleteLove your budding sprouts all over!
For sure flowers bring life to a home, or at least they do to mine. I so love violets and press some every year. I haven't been out to look for any yet this year because I'm having such horrible episodes with allergies, but I'll go soon. Have to have my little wild violets. Your photos are lovely. ♥
ReplyDeleteI envy you those lilacs!! They are simply gorgeous and I bet they smell devine. I can't grow them here in Georgia - maybe it's too hot, I don't know but I sure do miss them. We had big huge bushes in NJ! That vase is sweet!
ReplyDeleteManuela
I love lilacs too...and I miss them so. Since we moved to our new house, we don't have any in our yard. I want to plant them, but am too impatient to wait for the blooms!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week!
Hugz,
Michele
I love all these flowers you are showing today...just beautiful. I don't know about other cultures but flowers in MY cottage make us ALL happy!
ReplyDeletehugs, bj
Hope Earl is doing good...
All of the flowers are beautiful, Kathy! Your photos really show them off (I can almost smell those lilacs!)
ReplyDeleteI love when summer comes and I can have fresh flowers everywhere in the house (I like to make small bunches for every room). As much as I love to have them, in the winter I am just too frugal now to buy them. So Spring is gratefully welcome here in my home!!
xoxo

Very beautiful Kathy! I absolutely love violets and lilacs too. I love bringing Spring flowers indoors :)
ReplyDeleteI love the flowers! The more the better! Just yesterday I pulled off on the side of the road and grabbed a handful off an abandoned tree on public property..it was all falling down but smelled heavenly! I've NEVER owned Lilac bushes before..the smell is amazing!
ReplyDeleteAND you and I BOTH posted pictures of little cherub vases today! So funny!
Such sweet, romantic pictures. I'm with you, bring the flowers into the home!

Beautiful blooms--including your geranium rescue. I love this time of year!
ReplyDeleteThis time of year seems so fresh and the flowers blooming everywhere is so delightful. I keep passing the huge lilac bushes around here and wanting to bring my scissors. I have three lilac bushes but they are french lilacs and not those big fat flower kind. I love the aroma and how beautiful they look in a vase.
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday and Tuesday.
Karen
*sigh* gorgeous flowers Kathy!!!! Lilacs make me happy and sad at the same time. I love them sooo much. they remind me of wonderful memories with my grandma and her house that I loved so much!!
ReplyDeleteLove ya,
Amy
I love fresh flowers in the house! Cant get enough...especially lilacs. They bring back such nice memories of when I was little. I used to pick them for my teacher and take them to school with a wet paper towel and tin foil around the stems.

Oh so pretty and especially with YOUR touch!
ReplyDeleteI love flowers of all kinds in a house! These are gorgeous!!!

P.S. Thank you for ALWAYS being so sweet!!!!!
Hi Kathy, I love your flowers, and agree that fresh flowers make a beautiful home! Over in our area, they are just starting to come up out of the ground (I think spring will miss us this year and go directly into summer!) Have a great week,
ReplyDeleteLove,
Marilyn
I believe that flowers are a gift that are meant to be enjoyed. Afterall....the old saying goes"
ReplyDelete"Take the time to smell the flowers!" And you sure do!! Lilacs are wonderful!!

I've never seen real lilacs, but they look and sound divine.
ReplyDeleteI'm so funny about our blooms. I want them in the house and in the garden. I guess I just want it all. ;-)
Hi Kathy
ReplyDeleteI share your love lilacs and violets. They remind me of my mother. We had a big lilac bush by our back door when I was growing up and we had lots of violets in the garden that I dug up in the woods when I was very young and brought them home for my mom to plant in her garden.
Hugs, Rhondi
I love this post...m..
ReplyDeleteOh goodness I hope it does not mean death as I LOVE fresh flowers in the house! Lilacs are my favorites too. However, I don't like their smell when they start to get old and find you need to change the water often to keep them fresh.
ReplyDeleteWhat a darling little vase. I can see why you like it.
Thanks for sharing. Come visit me!

Hi Kathy, I just got your comment on my blog...I didn't know you had more than one blog! I'm going to check out the others! The little birds in the picture are salt & pepper shakers and my honey is making them into finials for me - I have two matching lamps that they would look really cute on! Thanks for visiting, you are a sweetheart!
ReplyDeleteMarilyn
Beautiful photos! I think bringing fresh cut flowers into the home brings joy, not death!
ReplyDeleteI especially like the photo of the rescued bloom!
