Thanks for the kind words regarding my exam. I could run along and pretend everything was hunky dorey but I would rather be true. Besides, we fall down and we pick ourselves back up again, that's what life is all about isn't it? Onward and upward, stiff upper lip, never, never, never give up, right Winston?
So here's a little sneek peek at some things I've been working on. I hope to get a lot of sewing done in the next few days, as much as possible.
These are made from modern day feed sacks. Sturdy enough to hold 50 pounds of beans or horse feed and cute as the dickens for a trip to the farmers market, grocery store, a picnic, and big enough to fit a crock pot full of goodies for the next church picnic like I did.
Pure country girl. Oldest daughter has already scammed the first one off me. But I love to make things she loves, so I let her:>) Coming soon to etsy.
The bags are fabulous. Everyone wants their own signature tote bag and these are perfect.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the GREAT work! :-)

You've done it again, sugar! WOW, that is just adorable. Wonder why feed sacks are becoming so popular nowadays, chick? We used to throw them away...

They are going to be a hit! Mark my words :)
ReplyDeleteLove your new bags! My dentist's chairside assistant makes and sells bags from feedbags. She's been selling them for several years and they go like crazy! At first everyone thought she was nuts, I'm sure. Can't wait to see more of your creations.

Congrats on another semester under your belt!

Love these! I saw a tutorial on some website showing how to make reusable grocery bags from birdseed and dogfood bags...so ingenious! All the graphics are fabulous.

Love these country bags! My Mother remembers going to the feed store and picking out sacks for the fabric. Back then they were printed with flowers etc. and they used them for clothes! By the way I LOVE the zinnias peeking out of the bags!
ReplyDeleteThat first one grabbed me immediately and won't let go...

How cute! I just bought a feed sack at a garage sale last week. Made of a canvasy cottony fabric. Does yours have a water resistant finish on it? Hard to tell in the picture. Did you make up your own pattern? I might just have to copy you once again! Mimi
ReplyDeleteCute bags
ReplyDeletelove these...I can understand why your dgt. scammed them from you. ☺
ReplyDeleteG'morning, Kathy...I just came over from S. Sunday...this has been such an awesome weekend.
