Happy Sweetest Day!
Did you know it was Sweetest Day? I hadn't been paying any attention to the calendar at all. Earl and I went to Panera for our Saturday morning "date" of coffee and a little something yummy (everything bagel for me and a brownie for him today), we take the time to plan the next week, and have some face to face time to talk about whatever. I love it. Time carved out for us. Then a trip to the Farmers Market, probably the last for this year. Pumpkins everywhere, and every size shape and color, gorgeous! There was a sign by the flowers wishing everyone a Happy Sweetest Day. Clever reminder. I got my favorite market bunch from my sweetie. Zinnias, mixed with lots of other spikey pretty things. Plopped in a dark brown antique crock they capture autumn beautifully. The morning sunshine makes them glow:>) Happy. The rest of the day will be spent on shopping, cleaning, spiffing up the things around here that get ignored the rest of the week, and some baking of bread. A pretty happy day all round. Happy Sweetest day to all of you,What do you have planned?
What a nice thing, a Sat morning date! Love it!! Your flowers are so pretty and make me smile. Lots going on for me with my visit to my Mom then home on Thursday. I miss my guys! Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know it was Sweetest Day either, but sounds like a wonderful day to celebrate. Your flowers are beautiful! Gives me an idea for Farmer's Market a year from now. Can I remember that long??
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy,
ReplyDeleteI love your special date time...perfect! (We are big everything bagel fans...and brownie fans too for that matter :o) The face time is so vital. We had our once a week "big" breakfast out this morning (we always split some diner-style breakfast between us) and it was awesome as usual - we finally have sustained cooler much drier weather here, so it finally feels like fall...
I've had a vague notion about Sweetest day, but I din't have a clue when it was or what it was about, but it sounds awesome! Your flowers are absolutely lovely...very Fallish indeed!
I'm heading out to the studio to keep working on preparations for the Flea Market...it's 3 weekends away...wow, time has gone by so fast! Should be a beautiful, bountiful, and productive weekend! Hope you have the same sweet friend!
Hugs & Blessings,
Becky
Ooo those are pretty! We don't have a Panera :( but I eat at them in Nashville every chance I get.
ReplyDeleteToday...wash the car and make food for a church supper :)
I just found your blog.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that I did. It's simply lovely.
Happy Sweetest Day! It sounds like a wonderful day planned Kathy.
ReplyDeleteI had my blogger brunch today. There were 15 of us. Then we all went antiquing. Just got back home....
Your "Home" pillow was ooohhhed and awwwwwwed over...
Hugs,
PEnny
What a 'sweet' thing to do on Sweetest Day! A date with your sweetie - and flowers, too. I've been puttering and cleaning and decluttering and enjoying the October sunshine!

Kathy, how nice. Your flowers are lovely too. I am catching up on blog posts tonight. I was away attending my best friend's wedding in New Hope, Pennsylvania...it was lovely. And I was the photographer. It is so difficult to get back into blogging when you have taken a break for a while.
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday Kathy.
Karen
