Advent Joy

The third week of Advent represents joy. Each morning this week we should light a third inner candle. Three candles, going from expectation, to longing, to joy. They represent our inner preparation, or inner perspective. We begin each day this week with a sense of liberating joy. Perhaps we can pause, breathe deeply and say,
"My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord,
my spirit rejoices in God my savior."

  7. I love the snowflakes! We lit our 3rd Advent candle in church, and read a reflection on the feeling of joy that this Sunday brings.

  8. Kathy,
What a beautiful reminder. Every time I get caught up in the hectic "To Do List", I stop and remember the real reason for the season. Your photograph here is lovely. Karen

  10. Hi Kathy -
Your photo is wonderful. We celebrate Advent each Sunday at church but a day or two ago my sweetheart and I decided that we want to bring it into our home next year. We will do something special for the rest of the season this year but next year we want to have the candles and devotions each day to celebrate together. Just the two of us. Do you have special devotions or something you use in your home? If so, I'd love to know what you use.
