We had a wonderful Christmas, but, dare I say it? I'm ready for a new year. Glad to see the old one go and ready to start new. I have already begun packing away the Christmas decor. Slowly. I don't want it to feel like a chore so I think a little tweak each day where I take down some Christmas and leave a cleaner feel will be just fine. I am also ready to start new in my etsy shop. New year, new projects, so until January 1, everything in the shop will be up to 50% off. I am marking it all down so get it while you can because after January 1, it won't be seen again!
I am excited about what the new year may bring. I have a surprise to announce the beginning of February, and we keep hoping that a new year will bring a change for the better in the economy and job opportunities. What about you? What are you looking forward to? Do you have any dreams for the coming new year? I would love to hear them!
I sincerely pray that this coming year will be a year of great blessings, joy and prosperity for you and your family, dear Kathleen! I am also anxious for the new year, and took all my decorations down and packed them away the day after Christmas. It's back to business for me, I guess!
ReplyDeleteLove the little vignette of wintry trees and buttons. Is this your photo? It's great. Well, that is awesome that you are doing a little at a time. I plan on getting myself more organized, doing some and making 2009 a "make-over year"! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm ready for a "clean" house and more "PINKKKKK" walls, sweet chick!!! But I'm taking it easy for about a month. Can't take all the excitement anymore.........hah.....if you believe that, you're crazy! Can't wait for your announcement either honey.
ReplyDeleteSmooches,
Connie
Kathy,
ReplyDeleteI was just cleaning out my Christmas things on Etsy and about to rearrange my blog, when I glanced at your post. Yes, I am ready for the new too. Hopeful that 2009 will improve our difficult economy. I am ready for new new new too.

ReplyDeleteI feel the exact same way. I started yesterday putting things away and moving things around. I even went into my quilt room and worked on a neglected project. I love changes in times and seasons as it makes you stop and think about where you are headed.

I love the use of the white buttons in your winter scene.

hi there! Trying to recover from the holiday and starting to put away the decorations. Its fun putting them up but not so fun taking them down. Hope the New Year for you is filled with health happiness and prosperity.

ReplyDeleteNow, excuse me while i rush over to that cute shop of yours...
love, bj
Hi Kathy,
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about a cleaner feel. I love how the house feels and looks after taking everything down, cleaning and tweaking.
I am hoping that the new year will bring more jobs, a much better economy and people truly reaching out and knowing who their Savior is!
Hugs,
LeAnn:)
Kathy I think you and I are on the same page here in so many ways!!! Linking arms as we skip forward together into '09 -- two young women (yes, young women!!) -- forces to be reckoned with!! ♥
ReplyDeleteA surprise, huh? What ever could it be...I dunno.
ReplyDeleteMy dreams for the future? How'd ya know? I want to take "my" youth on a mission trip somewhere. We got a newsletter from a young married couple with 3 in diapers who are working to plant churches in NYC. I think that might be our starting point.
A fresh start is always fun, isn't it?
ooooooh, a secret.
ReplyDeleteYou will tell is won't you?
I'm ready for 09...I have my wall calenders, desk calenders, daytimer, and my food journal all prepped and ready to start my entries.
I think I need to take this idea! I dread putting everything away all at once! I'll do a little at a time...and my family won't yell at me. They always get mad when "I get rid of Christmas!"
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping new, wonderful, happy things for you and your family for 2009! I always LOVE the new year....it gives me a feeling of starting over!
Hello, sweet pea! What sweet Christmas trees surrounded by the white buttons. Such a clever, creative, and beautiful idea. Big hug ~

Hi Kathy...Yes I am also looking around at the job ahead of me taking everything down. I mostly get sad taking the tree down because I love the lights so much! It's also sad seeing it lay along the curb waiting for the recycle truck (sob). My hopes and prayers for next year? Peace on earth and peace within myself. Happy New Year to you and yours!

I agree with you in hopes that our economy and country will get the "pick up" it needs. I have faith in our country of strong men and women and I have faith in the Lord who is watching over us. My dreams for the new year?.....to get bills paid ON TIME... to stop worrying and get more stitching completed! Blessings to you, Kathleen

A new year always does offer the hope of blessings. I hope for a healthy and happy new year for all.
ReplyDeleteWe have many home projects that desperately need doing. They kept being put on the back burner last year, so we hope we will have the time to tackle them now. We have one son unemployed who lives with us, so we pray for a new job. I'm taking a sort of break from selling my crochet so I can do some gifts and a few things for myself.
ReplyDeleteWishing you God's biggest and best blessings in 09, Kathy. I can't wait to hear the news in Feb.
Hugs,
Lallee
Kathy ...I'm loving your year in review. So many beautiful memories.
ReplyDeleteThere are so many things I'm looking forward to for the New Year. More simplicity, more joy & laughter! Can't wait to hear about your news in February!
Wishing you a truely Happy New Year!
