I'm hanging on to this promise. Friday sweet husband was laid off from his job. We knew it was coming but it is always a bit of a shock when it comes. He works in the building industry and we all know how that has been going. I am not sure what is next but I have faith that God will not only see us through but that He will provide all our needs. So if you keep a prayer list, feel free to add us to it. Our health insurance is paid up through October, after that....we better stay healthy. Fortunately none of us have any chronic illnesses, we have always been pretty healthy and it isnt unheard of for Earl and I to go a year between doctors visits. We will look into buying a school policy for the girls. I know there are people out there who are in a lot worse shape than we are financially. We have a small nest egg put away for a rainy day and I am back at work at the school. I truly believe that we will be ok, it's all a faith journey at this point. So say a little prayer that he can find work. I'll keep you updated as God provides.

  3. If he's in the building industry that means he's smart and resourceful. Something will open up, especially with faith. It was so funny, I called my daughter just to tell her that Megan diddied in the litter box. Yay!

  4. Oh, dear, Kathy.
I so can relate to your problems right now. Bill was in construction business and many, MANY times, there would just not be any work going on. When he worked, we tried to sock just a small bit back into savings and so many times I don't know what we would have done without that small savings. Just about the time it was running out, God would open a door somewhere for Bill to work. We have remarked so many times thru the 48 years we've been married that HE has always...ALWAYS come thru for us...and I know HE will come thru for ya'll, too.As you've said before, HE has always taken care of you and HE will never stop THAT.
How many times we went without insurance and HE kept us healthy thru it all.
Of course..you are on our prayer list and I will continue praying that times will get easier for you and that work will come to Earl.
    love and kisses, bj

  5. Kathy, I agree with you -- sometimes we know these things are coming but it's still a shock when it does. And I believe that there will be a better and a bigger purpose behind this and with your faith it will happen.

  6. Gosh I am sorry Kathy. I will pray for you both when I finish typing. God is SO faithful and will provide. My husband lost his job last year, right when I started getting sick. He now is working two full time jobs in order to take care of me. So, I SO understand everything you must be feeling right now. But there have been a lot of Blessings that came out of it for us. So, Please stay hopeful like you are now, cause the other side of this is not as far away as it seems. You have a Wonderful attitude. :) If you ever need to talk, just email me. :) Sending you a BIG hug today !! :)

  9. Kathy!

I'm so sorry! As one who's husband almost lost his job a few months ago due to the economy, I totally know how you feel! About health insurance - I looked into BC/BS and Kaiser just for catastrophic and it was fairly reasonable (as these things go). If there's anyway that I can help - let me know (email me if you need to talk). Keeping the right attitude will help everyone adjust to the new situation and will set the tone.

    Hugs,

    Manuela

  14. Kathy, my dear friend - You and Earl are on my prayer list. Yes, God is so faithful and He has promised that He will never leave us and He won't forsake us! Even when we know that it's a bit of a jolt when the lay-off actually comes. I will take you before the Throne and wait to see what wonderful things God has ahead for you. ~Adrienne~

  34. So sorry to hear this, we've been in the same boat all year so I can relate! But I can tell you that God provides! He knew exactly what he was doing in our situation...even when we did not see it. Now, as his plans are unfolding before our eyes, we are in awe of his timing and purposes. I know the same will be true for you.

    Blessings,
