A big Thank You!
How can I begin to thank you all for the kind words, the heartfelt good wishes, the prayers and support I have received after my last post? I feel lifted up. Loved. Cared for. Blessed. There are many of you who are going through tough times of your own. I am praying for you. It is so good to know people care, and the thought that so many who I have never even met, care , well it brings tears to my eyes. Thank you. It doesn't seem enough but it is all I have. Another thing that brought tears to my eyes, I received this package in the mail today from Penny Carlson. Seems that our dear BJ won the Nie Nie auction on Penny's promise of a heart and instead of getting it for herself, she sent it to me. It is perfect. I can see the care and kindness from these two dear friends in each piece that Penny placed just for me. Thank you BJ and Penny. Penny included a beautiful handmade lavender soap and a card with a special greeting. You know, when I started this blog I had no idea that you all were out there or that you would find me. I saw a blog and thought it such a good way to stay in touch with out of town relatives. It has become such a blessing to find so many kindred spirits out there. Lovely women who form a network of caring and support. We have seen it in the outpouring of love for the Nielsons and I have experienced it first hand. Thank you . I consider you all another way that God shows his love for us:>)
Isn't it wonderful when it is revealed to us how blessed in this life we truly are? ♥
ReplyDeleteKathy, I am so pleased for you. Three wonderful women were involved in this - the artist, the giver and the receiver. Gifts from the heart are those we hold dear.
ReplyDeleteThat was so very generous of BJ! Penny does such amazing work! I love the black checkerboard around the heart - very cute!
ReplyDeleteManuela
That is perfect for your house! It is gorgeous and Julianne is jealous. She'll be wanting to see it in person very soon. You do, indeed, have very kind, generous blogging friends.
ReplyDeleteYou, Earl and the girls continue in our prayers. You and I both know that Earl is brilliant and hardworking-I look forward to an employer seeing those qualities and hiring him very soon.
Hugs!
Hi, Kathy...you are so very welcome.
ReplyDeleteI knew you wanted a piece of Penny's art as much as I did..when this all happened, me winning the auction and being blessed at being drawn for Penny's giveaway...I saw it as a chance for the both of us to get that piece we so wanted.
I know you will enjoy it...
love, bj
Dear Kathy,
ReplyDeleteI was so excited when BJ won the auction and emailed me to tell me she wanted me to make the heart for you! The two of you are so sweet, it was such a pleasure to be part of this wonderful random act of kindness.
Love ya,
Penny
Ooooooohmygosh, I just read the post about hubby getting laid off, sweetpea!! I'm soooo sorry but I have a story.
ReplyDeleteMy hubs was laid off from a job about 6 or 7 years ago and it was a shock. Just downsizing. Well, I CANNOT BEGIN to tell you how blessed we were that it happened. Many financial blessings have come to us that you would not even believe. To say nothing of other blessings we receive. Of course, we're full tithe payers in our church and that has given us blessings too numerouse to even name.
I truly believe that the heavens will open up for you. Just pray, pray and pray some more. It's devastating I know but it's a trial that can be gotten through, honey...
Smooches,
Connie
Hi Kathy
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about the stressful times you are going through. I will add you to my prayer chain.
Hugs, Pat
What a wonderful thing for BJ to do. A perfect way to put a smile on your face. And, of course, Penny does such marvelous work ..... a wonderful heirloom to have.
ReplyDeleteKeep your chin up,
((hugs)) Rosie
You were entertaining angels unaware LOL!
ReplyDeleteWhat Connie said...is what I was thinking yesterday...that I'll bet this is going to be one of those blessings in disguise and that you will be glad in the long run that it happened. That is God for you.
Hi Kath,
ReplyDeleteI am so glad I popped in again today, this post just made my day !!! How sweet of BJ & Penny :)
I have to agree with Connie...good things are right around the corner for you !!!
All the best,
Kathy :)
Glad to hear someone was so thoughtful to send you that heart. Keepin' ya in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteDear Kathy,
ReplyDeleteMy heart was so touched by such a precious act of kindness that was given to you. I have to echo what you said about sweet ladies that are in "blogland". I am blessed also by meeting kindred spirits. Such caring people out there.
I am sorry to hear of your husband's job and please know that I will keep you close in my prayers.
Many hugs!
Sincerely ~ Tricia Anne
Ps. You are one of those kind people that I have had the privilege of getting acquainted with! :o)
Hi Kathy,
ReplyDeleteWhat a thoughtful gift....I love that heart! I agree there really are so many kind people in blogland. I have been thinking of you...and hope everything will be OK. I feel this is a frightening time for our country.

Mornin' Glory....
ReplyDeleteI don't have that much pink inmy house, either. I picked out some little pink dolls and their little clothes from the net and will post one of those each day. So glad you are going to post pink, too. I wish everyone would. Then, it might help remind ladies to get those mammograms and self-checking.
Two of my best friends have beat breast cancer but it was a long, hard and sad battle. It is such a scary disease and I just hate it.
Blessings for your co-worker.
love, bj
Kathy,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for coming out of lurkdom to comment on my post this morning. Your encouragement about preparation in times of trouble is so, so right. There are so many things that most of us can do to be ready for these times of trouble.
I am so sorry to hear about your husband's job. But it's really uplifting to hear about your faith and confidence in the Lord. My husband lost his a job right after my first son was born. I will always remember how God so perfectly cared for us during that time. Both in terms of our physical needs and our spiritual needs.
It's nice to meet you.

Hi Kathy -
ReplyDeleteIsn't it wonderful the way God brings people together? Who would have ever thought it would be part of the world of the internet? Your treasure from BJ and Penny is such a special gift! And the timing was perfect. When I read your post I couldn't help but think that before Earl was laid off God was already putting it all together for you to have such a happy surprise.
~Adrienne~
God is bringing blessings and hope your way. The little blessings keep our hopes up.
ReplyDeleteTake care and you know there are SO many of us keeping you in our prayers.
Hugs
Michelle
I saw your post on Kimba's blog, and I came over here to tell you that I pray the Lord watches over and blesses you and your family. I am praising Him right now for those blessings that I know He will bring into your life. :-) God is such a good God, and our Savior is so, so sweet, the Holy Spirit such a comfort. Much love and many hugs to you...

ReplyDeleteKathleen,
ReplyDeleteMy heart goes out to you. Due to circumstances, I recently gave up my house to the bank. It was hard but I have now take a step forward. My philosophy in life is that something good always comes out of something bad. Hang in there, it seems you have a lot of support from blogland.

If this economy gets any worse, a lot of us are in deep trouble. I am worried sick about the stock market, among other things. It is scary to think we might lose the savings we have worked for so long and hard...don't really know WHAT to do....AND, the way they are talking on Fox News now, McCain doesn't stand a snowballs chance in hell of winning the race...OH, DEAR...I am getting depressed...better go find a sliver of CHOCOLATE.....
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy,
ReplyDeleteHow are you doing today? Thanks for visiting me....I have been thinking of you.
annie
Kathy, Here's wishing you the best, these are such tuff times now sometimes you wonder what next. I'm so happy you received such a special goodie in the mail, Lori

Well, Kathy Grace...I am having a devil of a time with Google Reader...I put in my password and it keeps taking me back to the same first page...remember...I'm old so you gotta guide me...carefully !! ;O)
ReplyDeleteWhat sweet and generous thing to do. You are all beautiful and incredible ladies. Love to you all.
