Do you think she missed us?
She was jumping up and down on the corner when we drove up. We had called to tell her we were 5 minutes away.
Her dad was mildly happy to give her that long awaited hug.
And I had to put the camera down to get mine. I did so much better this time. I only cried half the way home. *Sniff* Only 6 and a half weeks 'til Thanksgiving break...then we get to do it all over again:>)
Hi Kathy, how wonderfully sweet to have such a dear homecoming. I am sure you live from holiday to holiday and everything in between. Those big hugs are always the very best.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing such a dear post.

Oh do I remember those days! You brought back some wonderful memories of our reunions with our college-age son in days past. So glad you had a good time together. I knew you would. ~Adrienne~

Hi Kathy...your daughter is beautiful, you must miss her terribly..It brought back wonderful memories of visiting daughter up in Ithaca. But these dad's and their daughters. I remember when we first dropped Heather off at Cornell. She started mid-year in January and we were greeted with a blizzard. it took us 18 hours to get her there, crammed into a rented mini-van that was so packed with stuff we couldn't even see her sitting in the back. The day we went to drive home she stood on the curb outside the dorm in this freezing cold weather looking so very lost, she grew up in the South, and when her father started to get all blubberie I said "Quick step on the gas before she changes her mind"....I still feel bad to this day that I said such a thing...Bless her heart she tuffed it out for 7 years and came out a big shot lawyer....
ReplyDeleteGood to see her smiling face again.
ReplyDeleteShe looks great! I'm sure you all had a great time being together again. Call me and give me the lowdown, ok?
6 1/2 weeks til Thanksgiving? Please tell me you are hosting T'giving as always? And shall I bring the usual? ;-) Yikes, it's hard to believe...
I am so happy you got to visit! Look at that happy look on her face!
