The patterns. The charming old fashioned prints. I want them all!
I did walk away with a few that you will be seeing in some projects, and most importantly I got the names of the lines I loved best so I can look them up locally. We also went to a not so little fabric shop called Lolly's fabrics in downtown Shipshewana. Two floors of cotton goodness. I am not a quilter so to tell you the truth, I have never paid any attention to quilt shops. Oh, what I was missing.
Now I intend to visit every quilt shop within a 50 mile radius of where I live. I just can't believe what I have been missing all these years! Anyone have a favorite online source of beautiful fabrics?
P.S. I was afraid that I had forgotten the pink in all my post's for October, but going back I see that they each have just a touch of pink! :>)
I've wanted to visit there for years! Glad you enjoyed it!

I just knew you'd love Lolly's, too. Can't wait to see what you got.
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy. Thanks for visiting my blog today. There is flag in the right top corner of my blog. It links to an article stating the two presidential candidates views about any future female draft requirements. I think it's very important to know their views about this serious matter.

Oh, what fun! I'm so glad you stopped, took pictures and shared with us. I need to stop what I'm doing and head for the quilt shop. There's one just across the ferry that I want to revisit. Maybe I should just drop everything and head that direction! ~Adrienne~
ReplyDeleteSo much beauty...m....
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy,
ReplyDeleteWe have been there three times. We had so much fun! I have several lovely little rabbits I purchased there. Don't they have great little shops?
What fun! I would love to be able to visit there, but could not tear myself away without buying too much fabric. Glad you had a good time. Blessings, Kathleen
ReplyDeleteOh how pretty all those colors are! I don't sew except for yo-yo's but I sure love fabric!
ReplyDeleteOoooh, what yummy yummy fabrics! I'll have to see if there's a quilt shop near me. For some reason I never thought about them having fabrics!
ReplyDeleteManuela
I've never heard of that town. I'll bet there were some baked goods there!
ReplyDeleteI love the fabric designers with blogs...Anna Maria Horner, Heather Bailey...
They are all so beautiful! I am seriously thinking about getting a new sewing machine and taking some sewing classes...I think I might be missing out on something. When I was in 8th grade home ec I had a teacher that totally turned me off sewing. 42 years later I am starting to have an interest. And you, Kathy are one of the reasons!

Oh Kathy I am so glad you got to shop at Lollys fabric shop!
Their selection of fabrics are wonderful!
I forgot about Yoders! Did you visit the hardware store across the hall?
Did you get a chance to visit any of the other lil shops in town?
I am glad you had a great weekend!
Hugz, Dolly
I love fabric, and these look so gorgeous. Such a wonderful place to visit, I love looking at fabric. I visited Anna Maria Honer's blog today, and she has just published a book. She designs the most gorgeous fabrics too. Here is the link to her blog. She is giving away a chance to win her book, a sewing machine and other goodies. Check it out.

ReplyDeleteOh my, fabric heaven! Blessings.. Polly
ReplyDeleteWasn't that just so much fun? Kathy, I do believe that the same quilting bug that bit me awhile back has flown over and given you a lil' nibble!
ReplyDeleteThere are so many fabric connections on line. Moda has an online shop. My friend, Miss Jean, knows of a shop that sells wonderful pinks - I think it is Shabby Fabrics.com ... something like that.
Have fun!!!

ReplyDeleteHello, Kathy! I'm not a quilter either, but recently I have started paying more attention to the quilting fabrics. There are some really beuatiful colors and I could see a lovely blouse or dress made out of some of them. Sometimes the prices are quite good! My favorite on-line fabric source is Vogue Fabrics. They are at www.VogueFabricsStore.com. They offer a wonderful selection of fabrics and their prices are usually very good. They sell the fabrics used by the patterns featured in the Vogue Patterns magazine, which is a big attraction for me. I'm still praying for you and your family! Hope you are doing well and keeping your spirits up!
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy
ReplyDeleteI am drooling over all the fabrics. Can't wait to see what you make with them.
Hope you have a great day.
Hugs, Rhondi
Oh what fun. For online fabrics check Reprodepot, addictingly wonderful.
