Looking out my front window this morning, through the pouring rain at the glorious color across the road. Did you ever notice the rain washes all the dust away and sometimes the trees look even brighter on a gloomy day? I am moments from walking out the door to work. TGIF. I can't wait to come home today. Grocery shopping, planning meeting with hubby, (we like to touch base on what we would like to accomplish every once in a while), and a trip to Borders to have coffee and checkout the new magazines. Love that.
Love that it's Friday:>)
What a great day and evening you have planned Kathy!! It sounds rewarding, relaxing and even though some of it is "necessary" (grocery shopping!), you've add time with the DH and a trip to Borders...wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love this photograph and your description of the rain washing away the dust...it does!! And I notice the red peeking in this photograph!! :)
Sounds like a wonderful day ahead (except the work part)....have a great weekend! I am spending the next few days finishing packing...
ReplyDeleteIt looks like my pillow will arrive at my new house on Moving day!!

Your trees are so colorful in the view. You are so right about rain...my husband and I always comment on how things just seem to sparkle after a good rain.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend!
What a gorgeous view! Have a wonderful evening with your hubby and hope the plans for projects include some fun. ~Adrienne~
ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful view Kathy. Sounds like a great day planned. Our area is so dusty an dry in the summer we literally have mud coming off our pecan tree with the first good rain. The first time I saw it, I though one of the kids had shaken a 2 ltr. Pepsi bottle and sprayed it all over the porch and sidewalk!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Dawn
The way I look at it, I think this picture is exception! I love all of the colors and the way it looks framed by the red flowers. Hope your day is a good one!
ReplyDeleteYour view is beautiful! I enjoy going to the bookstore for coffee and reading all the home decor and garden magazines. One of life's simple pleasures. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteWow...gorgeous! Where do you live?
ReplyDeleteThe view from your window is beautiful and I agree with you about the rain. It just makes everything brighten up and come alive!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful view Kathy!! I did notice that about the rain! The colors really are pretty, I just wish they would last longer!

Kathy,
ReplyDeleteThe picture of your yard and street is beautiful! I think you are right about the rain washing everything clean (I know my car is!!) Doesn't it seem like every state is having rain? This is our 3rd straight day.
Your day sounds filled with great plans. My plans so often go awry (to quote Steinbeck somewhat) Had a big day planned to get so much done for our trip and I have delegated it out so much to my kids because I piled too much into the last day...laundry, food shopping (the one time that they don't want take~out!!), drugstore, packing. Most of my summer clothes are a bit snug. Try finding warm weather clothes in Chicago in October!! But as my daughter said, I'm always like this when we travel!! Last week I went to the lake without my tote. No clothes, meds, make~up...nothing. It was like camping!! That is why I fret!!! ;-)
Well, you have a great weekend, my friend!!

I wish we had this kind of color change in West Texas but, alas...we don't. Everything looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteI want to place an order for a Heart and Home pillow if you are TAKING orders, please...
Oh, and the English Pea Salad..no recipe. I just open a couple cans of peas, chop onion, cube cheese and add enuf mayo to taste..salt and pepper and add as many peanuts as you think you will want. i add a lot because we love them.
Enjoy your sweet weekend...

ReplyDeleteAnd in the morning, you get to hang out with your (*cough* favorite *cough*) daughter! lol I'm looking forward to it! Also, I would like to point out that you have just proven my point about how the rain makes things "glow." Thank you. Maybe ya'll can stop making fun of me for that now? haha i love you!
ReplyDeleteI sure wish we had this kind of color change here in Ca. No such luck, I can't conplain, the flowers are all in bloom, days are warm and evenings cool...whats to complain about...I always wait for the new magazines to come out as well, to see whats new...I am a new follower of yours, come for a visit...
