Now this one I love. These quirky old cottages just melt my heart. The round top doorway, the sharply peaked entry, it is all so unique and cute, and I think they had the best decorations on the block! Simple but cute:>)
This house is another favorite, a huge old farmhouse in a cheery yellow with a beautiful matching barn out back. What I wouldn't do for a barn like that. Does anyone else covet old buildings? I see so many that are used for junk storage or nothing at all and I think of a wonderful studio for myself and one for Earl in the other end and I know there is just no justice in this world. We would use an old building like that, no doubt about it. The next house we buy has to have some outbuildings! And look at the porch. *sigh* The next house gets one of those babies too.
Stop on over to The Inspired Room and do some drive -by's in the comfort of your chair. I have my cup of coffee and it is only 39 degrees outside right now so I am glad I snapped these yesterday when it was nice! Have a great day:>)
Oohh I love that yellow house with the red door!! As for the orange one?!? It may be seasonal but oh my gosh I'd feel like I was married to Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Eater!! hee!!
ReplyDeleteMornin', Kathy girl...
ReplyDeleteUmmm, love that yellow house!
I am thinking the economy crunch is going to stop folks from doing a LOT of things they once did. Bet Christmas will be leaner this yr., too.
love, bj
Hi Kathy!
ReplyDeleteI agree, the orange house looks great in fall but I'm not sure about any other season! They must love that color and aren't afraid to show it :-)
My dream is to live in a yellow farmhouse with a big wrap around porch, so you know what house I like best!
I haven't done one fallish thing outside yet! I think I'll put my wreath out this week. I haven't noticed anyone doing anything this year except a few people have a mum or a pumpkin outside their door and that's about it. I think the decorating dollars are getting squeezed along with everything else!

Love the porches you showed. I'll try to drive around the neighborhood tomorrow. I'm having a giveaway...Laurie
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tour of the historic homes' porches. It looks like a nice drive for the view.
ReplyDeleteOh Kathy! What darling houses, lol! The second one reminds me of a fairies houst :) The orange one is precious in the Autumn, isnt it? I still have my summer stuff out on my porch, lol! I cant seem to swetich over, even though most of the leaves have fallen. I am thinking it will go in the shed this weekend :(
ReplyDeleteLove ya,
Amy
Hi Kathy -
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking us on the tour! What great houses. Of course I'm partial to yellow so that's my favorite. I agree with you about outbuildings. My sweetheart would love to have a barn. I would be happy with a nice place to retreat and create, too.
~Adrienne~
Kathy, they are all wonderful. Each one looks charming and inviting. I'm going to have to show the orange house to a lady I work with. She is a lover of orange.
ReplyDeleteKathy,
ReplyDeleteWow, an orange house! Isn't that fun!? You found some great houses, I love those old homes. But, you knew that. :-) Thanks for making my morning, I loved the tour!
Blessings,
melissa
those homes have such a romantic feel to them- Oh to dream, great tour-
ReplyDeleteThanks
Lovely photos...you captured some really pretty porches. By the way, that fabric in a couple of posts back is gorgeous...I am a quilter, so you can imagine what that does to my heart!
ReplyDeleteI love these homes Kathy! The pumpkin colored one is wonderful! How fun it would be to decortae it for Fall!!

Okay...where do all you people live that you have all these cute houses around?? I love the orange house...ofcourse I don't know how I would feel about it at Christmas...
ReplyDeleteLovely houses, not sure about the orange though!
ReplyDeleteA porch is such a nice addition to a house.
Ooh very cute! I totally love outbuildings too!
ReplyDeleteThat first house takes my eye, too. Perhaps it's the color...can't say that I've ever seen that color on a house before, but I think it works well.
ReplyDeleteWhile the orange is definately an attention grabber, I tend to agree with you, only in autumn.
ReplyDeleteI love the ivy growing up the cottage chimney and the rounded door.
But the Yellow Farmhouse just makes me smile!!
Rhonda
I love the orange house! And the yellow and red one...this is a fun posting ...I'm going to see some of the others!
ReplyDeleteWell, I was going to tell you that if the orange one was for sale we would be neighbors soon...then I saw the yellow with the red door and that is the house I WANT! Thanks for taking me on your autumn decorating tour Kathy!
ReplyDeleteThe orange one looks like a giant pumpkins to me. LOL
ReplyDeleteThe second one looks like many of the ones in my neighborhood, including the one right across the street from me. I zoomed in to take a closer look at their pumpkin topiaries. They're really nice. The one by the front door is unique, with the gourd on top.
And the last house? Be still, my heart! I'd take it (with or without the outbuildings) in a heartbeat!
Thanks for the tour! :-)
K-

ReplyDeleteHi Kathy,

ReplyDeleteI love driving around neighborhoods and looking at houses! Thanks for showing us some in your neighborhood. I love the second one!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful tour you have shared with us. I would never think of painting a house orange, but wow it works on that one!
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Kathy..our kids and part of the g-kids had been on a cruise before (daughter 5 times!!) and they wanted to go again...and wanted Bill and I to go, too. We planned it for about 6 months, with daughter looking for good deals. Going off season made the trip much more affordable. It is hard for my son to get away....he owns 2 businesses, but, somehow, the time and the price just fell into place and off we went.
ReplyDeleteHope today is a really good one for you!
love, bj
Oh, these porches are gorgeous. I was away this week and when I returned I had an award, which I want to pass along to you.
ReplyDeleteI have a rainbow and an award for you on my post today. Please stop by and take it home. Have a lovely day. Karen
Hello,
ReplyDeleteI followed you from Karen's blog.
I love dressing up a porch, it's the welcoming "room" of any home!
I do not have one now...miss it so much.
