I was feeling the need for a little autumn color. I can't abide orange and brown, I love them outside but red is still my go to choice for color. I'm beginning to think I need to branch out a bit, but for now, I whipped up these pillows for the sofa. I am still working on the heart and home pillows, it is slow going with all the applique and embroidery but these stitched up quick as a wink with simple envelope backs. I should have the other pillows finished this weekend:>)
I also wanted to show you the new/old coffee table Earl and I found while we were out garage saleing this summer. It used to be a piano bench and we both really love the curvy, carved legs. It was a steal at $8. A light sanding and a few coats of poly brought it back to life. Ok, enough sharing, back to work on sewing those pillows. I am just closing my eyes to the housework today and getting them done. It's always a balancing act when it comes to what you need to do (housework),and what you want to do, (sewing). Today, sewing wins:>)

Oh, I am loving your pillows. Man...those would take me 21 days to make. You can do them in 21 minutes!! I can't wait to see these other pillows you speak of...will they be for sale?? You know me..I have to have one of nearly every thing you make...:)
What a darling piano bench/coffee table. I would love to find something like that - it's not like any piano bench I ever sat on! ~Adrienne~

I love that you "just whipped up" a few pillows!! You are so awesome...and these are amazing!!!!
Love the piano bench too -- never would have guessed that it started out its life in front of a piano!! You did a fabulous job of refinishing it!
Kathy...I love your pillows! I hope you don't mind...I put a link to you on my blog...finally posted..I did a little fall decorating and took a picture of my bird on pumpkins that you made!
I just love the coordination of the couch and pillows. They are perfect for this time of year. (I hate orange and brown, too!)

Sewing and decorating over housework any day! Love the old/new coffee table! The bench makes the perfect table!~Patti
The new pillows are very cute.
I'd say they'd make a nice Christmas gift but since, you know, I'm still living with hideous browns and oranges, I guess I'll suggest it some other year. Since you're dying to make me a Christmas gift and all. ;-)
PS-Is my brother now calling himself "The Uncle" when he comments on my blog? That threw me for a bit, since I KNOW Unc doesn't go online. I suppose "the" signifies a different person than just "Uncle".
The pillows are spectacular, and love your fabric choices...Just a very happy room, xoxo~Kathy @ Sweet Up-North Mornings...
Love your pillows. I'm going to check out your Etsy site next. I'm with you on the orange and browns. I just made an orange Halloween pillow to put on my Etsy shop. It was fun to make, but I wouldn't use it in my house.
Fun pillows! Love that ball fringe. Great find on the bench/table. It turned out great!

I love your pillows Kathy! :o) I too lean toward reds. :o) I am trying to find creative ways to bring them into my home. :o)
I would love a day of sewing! But alas, heading out to work. I can't complain, I have the sweetest elderly clients a person could want to work with. :o)
Have a nice weekend!

I came over from Mimi Sue's because I noticed on here side link pics that someone had my exact family room couch. How fun!!! I also just made a floral ottoman slipcover to coordinate with it. If you come by to see it, I think it's 3 or 4 posts down, 'What I did on my Summer Hiatus'...long story. Ha-ha!
Love your taste in couches! : )
