And she's back....

Whew! It's been a while hasn't it?  Did you think I dropped off the face of the earth? Nope, here I am, again.  It's been March since I posted and to be truthful I've wondered if I would ever come back to this little corner.  I got busy with Spring, you all know it's my favorite right?  Planting the garden, visiting my darling grandbaby, and a trip to Pennsylvania to hang out with my far away daughter and son in law for a week.  It was a happy and busy Spring and I just kind of felt burned out here. I have  been posting since 2007, and was wondering where it was all going. Hadn't I pretty much said everything?  And of course once you get out of the habit, it's easy to stay out of the habit.

Also, on July 7 I was racing around the kitchen and tripped on the dishwasher door I had left open. That ended in a fractured humerus (upper arm near my shoulder), and 2 weeks after that I had major surgery.  To say most of my summer was a blur would be totally accurate.  I'm healed, feeling great and have finished rehab for my shoulder so all is well, but July through September were pretty much lost.  I was, however, still able to hold that precious baby grand of mine :)

So that's the long story condensed.  I'm still not sure how long I will keep posting here. Maybe once I get back into it some fresh inspiration will strike.  I kind of feel like blogs are dying though. Do you?  How many of my friends are still out there blogging?  Can you give me a shout and tell me where you think it's all heading?  I have been posting on instagram, I have to say it's a whole lot easier, faster and less time consuming.

If you're reading this give me shout. Is anyone even going to see this anymore?  Here's hoping :)
If we've lost touch I would love to hear what you did with your summer too!

  1. Kathy , so good to see you. But what a bad time you have had....you have to stop this marathon running round the kitchen!
Like you a dn many others, my blog began in 2007. I feel that a lot of the people from that time have drifted away, and I do wonder how long one can keep up the flow. It's hard to find new things to write about, but I do like the contact with people.
    So dont disappear just yet!

  2. Dear Kathy: I think I found your blog shortly before your last post and thoroughly enjoyed it. So, please don't stop writing. I began my blog, whereinspirationblooms.com Sandra at Maison De Jardin, almost 2 years ago so I am still rather new to the blogging world. However, I do agree it can become difficult to find new inspiration. I can't say if blogs are going away - honestly, in our crazy world, I think something lovely is such a breath of fresh air. I enjoy the few friends I have made along the way and if your enjoy the contact with others, I urge you to continue. It is truly wonderful to find like-minded souls. Have a lovely weekend !

  5. Well I’m here. And I was wondering a day or two ago if you’d return so I am thrilled that you are here. Instagram is all the things you say minus words. I love words. Perhaps blogging is going...all those bloggers who allow ads that cover up their material are to blame. Okay, that might be a lie because other things disturb blogging as well... Tell us more. Why do you think it’s in trouble?

  6. That first photo is glorious, such a romantic feel. Sorry about that broken bone, ouch. My shout is that I still love blogging and visiting others' blogs, whether old friends or new.

  7. Glad to hear you're feeling better and that you were able to enjoy that baby through it all. Just darling! I'm glad I was able to keep up with you via Instagram. I think blogging is alive and well, perhaps not the way it used to be though. Today it's more of a business for many involved...my own blog is somewhere between hobby and job now. Not really sure how that happened, but I'm going with it. For now! I just love writing, can't do that in depth on any other platform. Enjoy the weekend!

  9. I found you shortly before you took time off. I also just started back to my blogs. I think blogs are a little different but still going strong. I started another blog separate from my sewing blog and I hope others will join me.

  10. After Bill passed, I didn't blog much, either.
Now, I post fairly often and will do so more when it gets cold outside.
I also started in 2007 and still enjoy it.
    So glad you are healing...

  11. I'm here - and so glad you are, too. I've missed you but have kept up with your doings on IG. I love to see more photos and hear your words here. I need to decide to blog a bit more often. I love to blog because it's definitely a record of things to remember and I've made such good friends (you are one of them!!!!) by blogging. If you decide not to continue I can still keep in touch, my friend.

  12. I have kept up with you on Facebook and when you comment on my blog posts, so I knew you were still there :-). I am still blogging. I have thought about stopping but still have fun with it. Hope you continue, but understand if you don't. Hugs.

  13. I sort of left reading blogs when Facebook became the craze. But, after today and Pennsylvania, then having a disagreement with a total stranger about immigration laws in the 17 and 1800s...I have decided I need to move away from that all time consuming thing...and that’s what Facebook is...an inanimate thing. I checked our my friend Nonie, and now I’m just surfing her list of blogs. How fun, how refreshing, and just that quick...I know I am ALIVE. Thank you for being here. And, I feel so bad for you. On occasion when I just walk away from that opened dishwasher door, I wonder if that could happen. Guess we both need to change our ways. And let that way be me reading your blogs.

  14. It's good to see a new post from you!.. So sorry about the shoulder. .Boy that must have been painful. Your grandbaby is beautiful! As for blogging, in all honesty, I've had my blog for many years but never really kept up with it. I tried doing YouTube for a long time but the truth is on YouTube, the element there is, strange. There seem to be many people on there who like to bully others and you deal with a lot of hate comments etc. YouTube over the last few years like many other things has turned very negative. As for Instagram, I like it but I don't post much there. I like to write. I like to read. I also find that the atmosphere and the people who read, comment and write blogs seems so much more kinder. I love the blogging atmosphere and I am going to try and blog more on my own. I've tried other social media and I always come back to my blog. I hope you'll keep writing!

  15. I'm sorry about your missing summer! I know you love the warmer months, up there in the north. I agree, blogs seem to be fading away except for the ones that post constantly with sponsered posts and ads all over the place. I gave up blogging a few years ago and found a better place (for me) in Instagram - I always loved the photography part of blogging most. In any case, I do still have a list of lovely blogs that I read every now and again, so I'll see you here and on Instagram!
