Happy 4th of July! America throws the biggest party every year and it is wonderful to see the outpouring of love for our country. We went to the parade this morning, strictly small town, and as the national anthem began, everyone stood and though the streets were shoulder to shoulder, there was absolute quiet. Suddenly, you could hear people joining in. What a wonderful moment:>
I hope everyone out there takes this day to play and laugh and enjoy the freedom we have fought so hard to attain and to keep. Happy 4th!
That does sounds like a beautiful moment to cherish! Thanks for sharing. I love small town celebrations especially on the 4th of July! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd how lucky you are to live in that small town! I am proud to be a sappy gal who still gets goose bumps when I hear that anthem or see the Stars & Stripes waving, just so, in the breeze! We are blessed!

Kathy, the parade sounds so neat. There's nothing like a small town and how people get together to celebrate a special day like today.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the rest of your weekend!
Nancy
We also went to the parade that we've been going to for the last 20 plus years.
ReplyDeleteI am so proud to be an American and have such a wonderful country for my children, grands and great-grands to have a place to grow up, choose their religion, have a right to voice their opinions..
there may be things wrong with our country, but it is still the BEST THERE IS..
love, bj
Displays of patriotism always bring tears to my eyes. We have so much for which to be grateful.
ReplyDeleteThis was wonderful. I hope you're enjoying your weekend.
Sounds like a beautiful moment. Freedom is a truly amazing thing! I have been singing "God Bless the USA" for the past couple of days and it still makes me tear up every time I sing "I won't forget the men who died and gave that right to me"
ReplyDeleteGreat pics of the parade!
Thanks so much for visiting my blog and welcoming me to Blogland.

Kathy, that old milk truck in your mosaic takes me back...those used to deliver in my neighborhood when I was little! Happy 4th!
ReplyDeleteOh, that's what I love about living in a small town -- shared moments like those! Love your mosaic, Kathy. :)

Hope your fourth was great - loved the mosaic! My town doesn't have a parade and I miss that!

Sounds like such a special day...m.
ReplyDeleteKathy, It looks like a perfect way to celebrate the Fourth of July. Our town doesn't have a parade, nor fireworks on the 4th. Boston celebrates the big fireworks with the Boston Pops. There are some towns nearby that have fireworks, but I miss a seeing a good parade.
