Mosaic Monday

I'm just catching up with everyone. Sharing a mosaic of the garden in July for Mary's Mosaic Monday:>)
One of the girls admonished me that I haven't posted in a while. Chalk it up to the lazy days of summer. I have actually been reading, doing a little gardening and weeding, trying to get into the swing of sewing and failing. There may be too many projects swirling around in my head and it sometimes completely stops up the works of actually getting anything done. I STILL have not finished the last two dining room chairs, bad me. I see the back to school sales begin (shudder) and the countdown to going back to work begins in my head and I realize how quickly the last month has flown by and how quickly the next month will fly and I don't quite know how to catch up on all the things I wanted to do. I need to take one day at a time and savor each one. So many projects so little time. Earl put up another section of picket fence beside the chicken coop to define our little garden area. It is a work in progress but we have a vision for it that makes me happy. Raised beds, paths and flowers. An area for our little outdoor fire pit. I have been spending some time just daydreaming and that is ok. I think we all need daydream time. It recharges out creative batteries. My posts may be a bit fewer and farther between for the next month while I make the most of summer. I think that is normal. August is booked solid already! Family reunions, a weekend away (hallelujia!) and some time I will be spending with my BFF in Florida. It's all good. I will be catching up with everyone as I can. You aren't forgotten, but I have noticed you are all posting a bit less and enjoying summer a bit more too:>) Good. Summer is flying by and it would be a shame to spend it all staring at a computer screen! How will you make the most of the rest of summer?

  3. My philosopy is blog only when you want to, and when you don't want to, don't. As far as I am concerned every post you do is worth the wait. This mosaic is so outstanding in it's creation and in it's photography. Sounds like you have fun things to look forward to in August.

  4. Kathy girl, I'm with Judy -- blog when you want to -- it's called blogging without obligation...that's the way it's meant to be!! You have so little "free" time from work and summer is meant to be the lazy, hazy, crazy days...enjoy them to the max with family and yourself -- relax and enjoy...and all your projects? They'll wait...doing what feels good in the moment of "this" day is what life is all about!!! Love your garden photos by the way!!! :)

  5. I can sympathise that the summer does indeed seem to be moving too quickly, and I too suffer from the "too many ideas, too little" time affliction! We shouldn't really stress about it, enjoying the summer and spending time with family is what it's all about, mull over those ides and they will "hatch" come fall and winter when we have to spend more time indoors. Thanks for your lovely posts!!!

  6. Your mosaics are always so pretty. I agree, we need more day dreaming time. As a child, I never seemed to stop day dreaming. :o) Thank you for the sweet reminder to let some of that time back into my life. :o)
    Happy Monday!
    Sincerely ~ Tricia Anne
Ps. Your white picket fence is precious!

  7. Your mosaic is great! Love the sunflower. Mine didn't grow this year. I think I must have had old seeds.

Summer is indeed flying by. I am spending this part of my summer house hunting, and thinking about what to bring to a new home and what to sell in a yard sale. Then I am going to have to pack.
    Hugs,

  8. Oh Kathy, you are so wise, taking daydreaming time re-inspires (if there is such a word)...but I know that there is such a need to dance in the IN-BETWEEN a bit. Summer is such a great time to sip lemonade in that gorgeous garden of yours. Your August sounds delightful, enjoy the summer.

    I love your mosaic too!

Happy Mosaic Monday and Happy Lemonade sipping Daydreaming.

  10. Here's how you do it - take a deep breath and then do whatever is the next thing that you need to do! So simple, yes. Easy to do, no. I read that recently when browsing on a women's inspiration site. Haven't figured out what the next thing is when there are a million 'next' things in my head. Have a great summer and time away. It's always a treat when you check in and say hi.

  14. I so love your garden!! Kathy, like you, it is so difficult for me to actually sit down and blog. I would love nothing more than to sit for half a day and just read about what everyone is doing...but then my house would be in shambles and nobody would eat. I say we do what we can do and when we can do it.

Enjoy the rest of your summer....

    love ya lots,
    becky

  17. A beautiful July garden mosaic! No pressures for blogging or commenting from me...summer is way to short and we should all be out enjoying it more!

  18. You are absolutely entitled to take some time off from blogging - if it were a chore or a job it would be a lot less fun to create beautiful images and meaningful posts.

Love the colors and simplicity in your mosaic. A peaceful, happy place.

  20. I'm with you.....sometimes it is just too hard to sit down and blog about something....so much to do and too little time! We are planning a new spot for a firepit area too...I want to use flagstone over a spot we took a tree down and the grass won't grow. Our minds want to do it but our bodies are holding back!

  24. School starts August 10th for us! How crazy is that! So we're trying to get things done for that. Fortunately my daughter wants/needs no new school clothes (what a great kid)! So I don't have to bother with all that. But we do need to get supplies and try to squeeze in some more family fun.
    Summer has just flown by!

    Love the mosaic!

  25. Beautiful mosaic! I can totally relate to your views of summer! It's slipping by way too fast. But I must admit I'm a cold weather person. I'm really looking forward to fall weather! Yes, I said the 'FALL' word!
Enjoy you summer and soon your ideas will come forth!

  30. Could somebody please stop the calendar? It's about this time in summer when I start to worry that it is going too fast. I hope you get more days of dreaming mixed in with your schedule. Your garden looks beautiful and you have some nice things lined up to enjoy. Let's try to live the next month as if there is no calendar.....just the present moment. I'm going to try!
    Hugs,
    Lallee

  34. Your garden is lovely. With the kids no longer at home we don't have the deadlines like we used to. No school shopping, no better go do this or that before school starts... Something to look forward to for you! Yes fudge stripe cookie jello. Sounds weird. Tastes great. I'll post the recipe soon. Mimi
