To Do List

On the agenda today:
Decorate cupcakes
Make veggie tray (both for a friend who lost her mom a couple days ago)
Make chicken tortilla soup for lunch
laundry
 clean the house
take pretty photos for blog post
 Clean kitchen.
Oh my, here is the real deal. Still in the process of painting the cabinets and a dose of reality.
And don't think for a moment that I didn't wipe the counters and clean the fingerprints off the appliances before I took this photo. There is only so much reality anyone can take!  Earl was removing the bottom doors as I decorated the cupcakes and let me tell you, have any of you ever taken the doors off and removed the fronts of your drawers? Lets just say I have a heavy date with a bucket of soapy water and a scrubby sponge. And can you see? That is tape that we are using as handles to be able to get the drawers open. It has to get worse before it gets better right?
A full day but a good one.
Late last night we got a call from this sweet girl, laughingly wondering if we minded if she came home for the weekend.
As if.
So whether the kitchen gets cleaned or not, time with her (and her sister!) gets bumped to the top of my to do list:>) The dishes can wait.

  2. I quite agree about your To Do List being changed when your daughters are around. I love it that they become friends and companions as they get older. My Ashley is turning twenty in April and Sarah is twenty-two. They each bring so much joy and fun into my life. And now I have two wonderful BF's to add to the mix. Their's of course.

I love the way the cabinets look painted white. Your cupcakes look dreamy and I am loving your photography.

I wrote a post for the weekend and gave links to a fabulous photoshop lady named Kim Klassen. Check it out whenever you get a chance, it's on my Pink Saturday post.

    Happy beautiful weekend.

  5. Fixing wonderful things to eat for a friend who is walking through grief and loss is a wonderful way to spend time - that ministered to us so much when my dear father passed away. It says more than words can tell!

Love your kitchen - yes, I do know all about it. We painted our cabinets white and now it's time to scrub and paint a new coat again!

Enjoy time with your girls, my friend.

  8. Mmmm, the cupcakes look delish! You know where I live... ;-)

We're having chicken tortilla soup, left in the CP while we're at church, tomorrow. With cupcakes, I think. (We had coupons for $5/off at Joann's so Julianne and I each got a new pastry bag for practicing decorating. She's working on some cupcakes right now...)

Tell Vicky "Hi" for us! How nice to get a bonus weekend with her!

    Love ya!

  9. Yikes! Brings back not so fond memories of our kitchen remodels! Doing dishes in the bathtub for 3 weeks was not very fun. Is your backsplash real beadboard or wallpaper? Does it go all the way to the ceiling around that window? I can't really tell in that pic. I'm thinking I'd love to have some for my backsplash Just trying to decide which way to go. Have fun with the daughters. Before you know it they'll be completely out of your nest with kids of their own. Mimi

  10. I am catching the vision for your kitchen. It is going to be so cheerful and inviting! What a full list of to dos you had. I was going to take a couple of those gorgeous cupcakes but it sounds like you have a full house and may need them all.

Had to laugh when I got to the pics of your kitchen. So 'DEJA VU'"

Is the beadboard new on the back splash or did you already have it?

I am so close to a big reveal on my kitchen...can't wait!
