Kathy 1- Chipmunks 0

I have come to the conclusion that I am not your ideal social media user.  I have a Twitter account that I barely use, I have started on Instagram, and I love it, but I just don't think to photograph things often enough. My facebook page gets checked periodically and this blog has been woefully neglected. Still, I soldier on and enjoy the interaction I do have with you, but real life has to trump all that.
Right now I am totally distracted by the garden.  The planting,
the trips to the farmers market to Buy. More. Flowers.  Can you ever have enough?

The gazing at the roses just beginning to bloom.
The garden right now is taking up an inordinate amount of time. I seem to be obsessed with sunset colored blooms this year, like these begonias.
And these...whatever they are.  I saw the color and had to have them. The sun was so beautiful on these this morning!
And as for the score in the title. Well, these are just a few of the berries we have managed to get before the chipmunks Score! They are absolutely gorgeous and bountiful this year.
I  also wanted to let you know the heart swags that I made back in February made it into the June issue of Australian Homespun magazine!  I was so excited when the editor contacted me wanting to include this photo.  I made these on a whim and got such a sweet response .  I have a few swags that will be in the shop by the end of the week, but I will also be doing a tutorial in a couple days so you can make your own. :)

What's distracting you from social media right now? ;)

  2. The answer is 'no'. One cannot have too many flowers. Congrats on your project going public. I avoid all media except blogging and some occasional Pinterest. It's all I allow myself because when I'm looking and listening to everyone else......I don't get anything done! Have a great week!

  4. The basement...she said ruefully. Ugh.

Congrats on having your hearts included in the magazine. I love them! (One presumes that with such a feature, a blogger feels some pressure to get material out there.)

Enjoy the garden and the flowers...no, never enough.

  5. Kathy! How super exciting for your heart banner to be featured! I am so happy for you! !!!!!!!!!!!!
And there is nothing like flowers to cheer the heart and keep you busy outside. As for blogging,
I feel your sentiment. When on the computer, not much gets done. Life seems to slip by as we get
older and we need to make the best of the time we do have!

  8. I love that heart banner so I'm not surprised to see it published. Yes, the garden does have a way of soaking up all our free time and even some that we should be spending elsewhere. Your blooms are beautiful. Enjoy the sun on your back my friend.

  10. Hi Kathy,

Wow that is awesome being in the magazine. I love those heart swags. Anxious for a tutorial.

I've been so distracted lately with my gardens too. I keep thinking I need to be more consistent about blogging and then I think... WHY? There is too much living going on right now to worry about that. You are such a great example to me of that and I really have appreciated you.

Your flowers are beautiful! Happy Summer!

  11. Hi Kathy, your garden looks amazing. I feel the same way about neglecting my blog. I don't have a twitter account, and I also forget to take photos for my instagram account.

Congratulations on your banner being published. I am not surprised, I loved this one!!!

  13. I don't think there's such a thing as too many flowers! Life is distracting me from social media right now - family and the garden and working on my little, vintage trailer and occasional adventures. But it's all worth every moment away from the computer. I'm looking forward to your tutorial for the hearts banner. I love that you were featured in a magazine - you deserve the recognition, dear friend.

  15. Hurray on the magazine feature! Yay, yay, yay! Where can I find it?

I think you do very well with posting on your blog---it seems we get a post every Monday or so. Am I imagining? I'm much more erratic. I wanted to go for twice a week but to be honest, sometimes I have to nudge myself to do the work, as opposed to reading! Ha!

In response to your comment--portion control is a killer, especially if it's good food or fast food. Hubby ordered pizza tonight and in spite of a salad to go with it, I simply didn't want to stop with that greasy, cheesy, gooey stuff! And I told my daughter, I start the day off so well, am I setting myself up for hunger in the evening? Yes and no. Eat more veggies, etc. throughout the day and yes, accept the hunger in the evening when we simply are bored and want the comfort. But ignore it. Ugh...
