100 :>)

Here it is, my 100th post. When I began this blog and saw others who were celebrating that milestone I just couldn't believe I would make it that far this fast.! And this is what I have been working on. I had quite a collection of lace and vintage jewelry that I was hanging on to. I knew I would think of something pretty to do with it someday but I didn't know what. I finally hit upon the idea of Lace Gift bags, embellished with vintage jewels and buttons and beautiful ribbons!

I think they would be great for giving fancy soaps or jewelry or to keep on a dressing table to hold little treasures. Leave a comment telling me what you would use these for, and I will draw a name Sept 5th for this bag....
filled with surprise goodies! This bag is approximately 9"x7" and embellished with a cuff of beautiful vintage lace and closed with a vintage rhinestone brooch. The medium bags in the top picture are approx. 5x7 and the smaller bags are approximately 5"x5". Thank you all for your kind comments and encouragement. It has been so much fun getting to know you a bit through your own blogs. Remember to leave a comment and for those of you who don't have a blog, please leave an email address where you can be reached in case you win!

  1. Kathy! These are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo beautiful! You are so talented and creative.....Congrats on your 100th post. I am so glad I "met" you. I look forward to reading your post every day.

Now, what would I do with these lovelys? Yes, as little gift bags filled with soaps or small gifts.

How about putting little love notes in and rest on your loved ones pillow?

Or hang them from a door knob filled with potpouri?

Sometimes paperback novels look intrusive on a bedside table. You could tuck a paperback into the larger one.

Oh my gosh - so many wonderful ways your could add beauty to your home with these!

  2. Oh you should have heard me say MMMM like when you smell a hot casserole or something...I love them!
I would fill mine with Dove promises...I promise!!!

  3. Ow my gosh Kathleen, these are gorgeous!! What a great idea and beautiful designs.

  4. You are exceptionally talented, Kathy. Just give you a few scraps of anything and it turns out beautiful and unique like these!! I can't think of a "use" for them, but they could be added to the pillows on your bed, just to look pretty!! LAS

  5. oooh Kathleen Grace, I have the perfect thing, tucked away. Old love letters.
    Hugs, Coll :-}

  6. Congradulations dear Kathy!
Raising my glass to 100 more fun & beautiful posts!

Oh I love those pretty lacey bags!
    What a great idea!
What would I use one for????
Hmmmm..... filled with potpourri, lavender, pretty hankys, pictures, a lil book in my guest room, a pretty compact, oh and what about CHERRIES!
    {just kidding}

    Congradulations again sweetpea!
    Hugz, Dolly

  7. Oh Kathy they are BEAUTIFUL!

I would love to put something like old photos or post cards that I get inspiration for my art in them.

Oh! or I could hang them and put some of my paint brushes in them

They would also look nice just framed and hung too pretty to be mussed up!

  8. Kathleen, congrats! My how pretty! First thought came to me was vintage postcards, then I was beat out on that idea! Next I'd tuck some vintages hankies peeking out and hang them up!! Great job again, it only sometimes takes a little to make alot!! Lori

  9. Oh Kathy! Those are absolutely GORGEOUS!!! I love anything lace. My bedroom has victorian touches, so I would definitely put one in my room. I would put some beaitiful love letters in it that Chad gave me when we first met. The others I would have to put out in the main part of the house so people could admire them! I would hang them on my window shelf or even framed and hung in the wall!

    I love them.

  10. Congratulations on your 100th post!! Your bags are beautiful and a wonderful way to use vintage lace. I would probably fill mine with more lace. I'm addicted to buying it. LOL

  11. Congratulations on your 100th post!

I would LOVE to have one of your lovely bags! If I were to win it would be filled with wonderful items...depending on which size.

The smaller one would hold tea bags and sweetener packets and perhaps a purse size package of tissue.

As the size progresses larger; I would simply add more to the above:
    My cell phone

Sweet petals of soaps for freshing up away from home.

Small size of my favorite lotion.

A Rhinestone comb and Vintage compact for a nostalgic touch.

My reading glasses and paper for notes

I would secret away a little cash for a special purchase.

On occasion I would rap up a little tube of Rosemary or Potpourri just to enjoy the scent when I opened the bag.

And because I enjoy working on small projects while riding in the car or waiting somewhere, I would slip my little cross stitch baggie or Yo-Yo baggie inside.

You are so talented and resourceful!

  12. these bags are absolutely EXQUISITE!!!!

  34. Congrats on your 100th posting! Time flies, doesn't it? Your bags are just precious and very feminine. They'd be cute with a bundle of fresh dried herbs in them and then tie them to the Christmas tree with a ribbon around them - like a tussy-mussy sort of. Thanks for sharing your great creation. Oh, you could also give a bride-to-be a little hankie to carry in it. hugs, Becky
