God's little gifts

This morning I flung open the curtains in my bedroom to greet the morning sunshine. What did I see? A beautiful Ruby Throated hummingbird was floating just outside my window. He seemed to be considering the lavender. Checking to see if it was ready for breakfast. It wasn't and off he flew. I adore these little birds!
So I refreshed my memory on the correct recipe for nectar (one part sugar to four parts water) and filled the hummingbird feeder. It made enough to keep a jar in the fridge for refills, so I went to look in the basement and found this old blue jar that I painted years ago. It seemed perfect. I think God smiled as he gave me the little gift of a jeweled visitor for my morning treat. Happy Birthday to me:>) Yes, it really is my birthday:>)

    We love our hummers....it is so exciting when they come back each spring. I love your sweet painted jar.

    We have had a pair of BLUEBIRDS checking out our bluebird house for the past week. This is the first time in 4 years we have seen them around this home of ours. I hope they stay.

    Love the jar you use to keep the nectar in. I've got my jar in my fridge, but it isn't nearly as pretty. It is taking the hummingbirds a while to find my feeder...bummer!

    What a pretty photo and a good idea to make extra nectar and store it in the fridge. I have a feeder right outside my kitchen window and am always thrilled to catch a glimpse of a little hummer.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY! we just had a humming bird build it's nest. The baby and mama flew the nest three days ago. it was so awesome to see her build her nest, have the baby, feed it, and then fly away together:) she was a good mama!

    I love hummingbirds. Someone told me that it takes a few seasons to get them to come back on a regular basis, don't know if that is true or not. It just reminds me of how God created everything...even hummingbirds. Once again I am in awe of His creations.
