It's All Good

We just got back from a couple days away. I had an unexpected day off from work (thank you Shalyn!) and we decided to head out of town and just relax. Of course, relaxing for us means a cute Bed & Breakfast, some antique shopping and trying new restaurants.

We shopped til we dropped, even though we didn't really buy anything...I think I spent about $10, then enjoyed a quiet dinner of fire baked pizza and a cup of coffee and face time at the local coffee joint.  We had a lot to discuss. You see, my sweetheart has a new job!
He starts this week and we are so excited about the possibilities this brings.
If you have been a long time reader you know, when this economy tanked a few years ago, so did his job. We have muddled through, and God has kept us going in so many ways. Through gifts from friends, part time employment and amazing circumstances, I really can't say we suffered a lot. There wasn't a lot extra but there was...enough.

So this getaway was our little celebration of all the good things that have happened. Things are looking up and the future is bright. We won't have to move, he will be working form home, and we can finally start doing a little dreaming again:>)
Ahhhh, God is good.  All the time.

  12. So happy for you guys! Things seem to have a way of working out, don't they? Taking a little time off sounds like a great way to celebrate.

  13. Dearest Kathy,
I so agree! God is good to us and is always with the lean times and, also, in times of plenty. My husband was greatly impacted by the dip in our economy, too. With a lot of prayer, trust in God for His provision and faith, we have begun to rebound financially. I rejoice with you for this new season in you and your husband's lives.
Thank you for sharing, sweet friend and Thanks be to God for His incredible faithfulness!

  14. I'm thrilled to hear your news! God is good - all the time! Loved seeing a bit of your get-away. So glad you could celebrate.

  15. What a wonderful way to celebrate God's faithfulness. The lean times really do show us we can content with so much less. Congratulations to your hubby! Patty

  19. You KNOW that I am just thrilled for Earl!! God does take care of us, yes he does. Sounds like you both have been taking time to enjoy each other and sneak in some shopping and great food. YEH! Kathy, I love the cupcakes, too. Your coworkers are quite spoiled and just blessed by YOU!

  20. Excellent news Kathy! Glad you could find some time to relax too. Mimi

  21. What fabulous news! I am sooooo happy for you guys! I don't know how you did it. Working from home? What could be nicer!

Sounds like your little getaway was fun!

  22. You're right. God is good all the time, isn't He? I'm so happy for you and your husband. You have every right to celebrate. Having stayed in several B&Bs over the years as well as owning one myself, I know you had a wonderful time. Would love to know where you stayed by the way. :)

  23. Oh Kathy,
This is such good news. Congratulations to Earl. Sometimes waiting on God is difficult, but He is good and He always keeps His promises.

I am so glad that you don't have to move.

    Congratulations again.

  24. Here I am again, I just can't stay away . . . after you visited my blog, I discovered that you had two more. Well, now I'm following this one too. I don't know your story but it sounds like not having to move was a true blessing. I'm very happy for you. My husband and I have lived in our home for thirty years and we can not even think of moving. Leaving a home we've made together and all the many things that we have collected through the years. Oh, my! Thanks for visiting my blog, hope to see you again. Connie :)

Thank you for taking the time to say hello :)
