I never used to be into blue and white plates, and then I saw some of the beautiful blue and white displays around blogland and fell in love with them. I began collecting them here and there at Marshalls and yard sales and today I put a small display up over my buffet.  The chalkboard was made for me by my sweetheart, the curlicues and flourishes were done by Victoria, the curlicue queen.  I printed the words out in different fonts and used chalk markers for our family rules board. The lighting was horrible by the time I got all the plates on the wall today, so I apologise for the blurry photo, but I just couldn't wait to show you. I love it.
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Mine was the best! Friday off from work, Victoria home from school for the weekend, a little sewing, and sunshine and lots of cuddling and some movies. It doesn't get any better. Now another work week begins, but it sounds like I may have a snow day or two mid week. Eight to ten inches is the forecast. Batten down the hatches, have you had enough snow yet?

  1. Kathy, it looks wonderful! I love, love, love that chalkboard....love it!

We had mid 60's this weekend and sunny. It was wonderful, but we are suppose to have rain and in the 40's mid week. I wanted to go out and play in the garden it was so nice, but I know that winter is still here.

    Have a wonderful week.

  5. You have a great focal point in your room. My mother never dressed us in blue when we were young, and now it is one of my favorite colors.
Yes, let's hope we can avoid all thoughts of snow this week!

  7. I love it!! Just fantastic. I'm so out of the loop, I didn't even know there was such a thing as chalk markers! I am so sick of snow! I'm in denial about the storm this week. I'll still be in denial when I can't get out of the driveway! :)

  8. The whole display is beautiful. There's nothing quite like blue and crisp white plates. They're very classic and elegant, but not fussy. And that chalkboard! Wow! What a work of art. Love it!

Kathy, your plates look lovely, and to answer your question, I am sick of snow. But I have nothing to say about it.
It is so deep my little gkids can't even go out and play in it!

My daughter loves to do caligraphy and such - some day I am going to have her paint some bible verses around my walls! Have a great week and keep warm!

  20. Your setting looks lovely with the dishes. I inherited lots of blue and white china, so it gets incorporated here and there even though I'm not normally a blue person.

Sounds like you had just the kind of weekend I love!
