Spring Can't Be Far...

I saw a bluebird outside my kitchen window Monday. It was below zero weather here in Michigan and I was home for yet another snow day. It was so cold they called off school so the little kids wouldn't freeze at the bus stop. But there he was, all fluffy and bright blue peeking in the window at me as if to say hello. I wanted to scoop him into my warm hands and bring him inside but he was gone in a flash. If the bluebirds are coming home can spring be far behind? I think not! Oh, how I love the blubirds:>)
And this is what I have been working on between my other two jobs! This tray is full of the buttons, jewelry and charms that I use to embellish my hearts. Yup! I have another batch ready for etsy and as soon as I am done with this post I am going to start listing them:>)

Not all are finished, but I hope to have this batch all finished and listed by Saturday afternoon. I still have some colors and styles to sew that aren't in this bunch, so if you don't see the ones you want, keep an eye open, I'll get to them! I plan to do some flea market and antique shop lurking with my sweetie tomorrrow, and maybe actually get the house cleaned up! I have today and Monday off from my school job for mid-winter break and I managed to convince my second job that they didn't need me today so I will have at least three days to just catch up. I will probably have to work the second job Monday though. I hope everyone has a great weekend! Get out there and do something fun, I know I'm going to:>)

  9. Hi there!

You have been a busy girl! The new batch of hearts are amazing and I love all of them. I especially love the red polka dot and the pale pink ones. Your bluebird of happiness is just too cute for words. Hugs, Jan@daylilylane

  10. What fun! I love your hearts and your "platter of jewels" makes my heart skip a beat. Your bluebird is fabulous! I love those puffy little winter birds flitting around waiting for spring!

  13. Kathleen, I am so happy to have found your blog through OWOH. That was truly the best part of the giveaway. I love these hearts, how beautiful. Bluebirds, I love them and collect anything to do with bluebirds. My name on flickr is bluebirdsandteapots. Blessings,Karen

  14. Whata beautiful bluebird photo!! I love them. When we lived in Tenn we had them nesting with us. But here in NC we have only seen one, this past summer. Hopefully we will get some more this year.

    Your hearts are looking amazing!!

  15. A beautiful bluebird...and let's keep our fingers crossed for an early Spring. It feels so damp outside but the sun is finally shining!
I hope your Valentine's Day was a sweet one dear heart!
Your sweet hearts and tags helped to make mine special.

  16. All my life I have wanted to have a siting like this. I just never see them here on Cape Cod. What a great camera shot too. I Love your blog. It takes a bluebird to delurk me. =)

  17. What a beautiful bird! Everything here is great--eye candy galore, Kathy!

  18. The bluebird photo is wonderful! What a fabulous greeting that must have been!

Also, I really like your hearts! When I look at the tray of ephemera, it makes me think of all the little baubles and tidbits I have. Sometimes, I enjoy my treasures so much that I find it hard to use them in crafts.

    Have a blessed Sunday!

  19. Hi Kathy! That tray of gorgoeus goodies, oh my goodness, that is bliss to us!! Gorgeous basket of hearts :) Jenn ans Jacqui

  20. Oh what a sweet bird! We only see bluejays around here (Nebraska) and they are not very nice. We too are having cold.... will be so glad to welcome spring. Glad to have found you!

  21. Oh Kathy, what a beautiful bluebird! I have only seen them once or twice around here, and even then not up close. It is gorgeous!

Your hearts are so beautiful, especially gathered together in a basket like that! You should send one to Romantic Homes magazine -- maybe they will write about it in next February's issue!

Stay warm! I hope spring gets there soon. :)

  22. That sweet little bluebird is so adorable, I just wanna squeeze him!

Love your hearts & the pretties you add on!

  23. I love that little bluebird. I have only seen them once several years ago when I spotted them in my Christmas wreath eating berries. When I went outside to get a good look they flew away an never came back. So sad! I don't think they are common in Mass.

  24. I love bluebirds. We have had one nest in our birdhouse the past 2 years so I am hoping they'll be back again. One day last summer we had 4 all slpashing in the birdbath. What a beautiful sight that was!
Hope spring arrives soon for you. I know what it's like this time of year waiting for spring because I used to live in Toronto.
    Your hearts are all wonderful.
    Rhondi xo

Thank you for taking the time to say hello :)
