Time for another post of Handmade Holidays and I have to admit, I didn't do a lot of hand made anything this week! Between Thanksgiving and having my youngest daughter home from college for the first time in three months I decided to kick back and just enjoy the week without any real agenda at all except to enjoy my family. Of course that family came through for me in the form of my sister (in-law but she's really just my sis) finding some adorable little skates at Goodwill for me for the paltry sum of $2.99 and bringing them over this weekend. I added some ribbon and some holiday greens and hung them in the back entry. It doesn't get any easier than that! Remember, along with showing some of the things we make by hand to give and to decorate with, you can show thrifted decorations or gifts for HH too! So show us your deals and your projects:>) and a big thank you for everyone who has participated so far. I appreciate your linking up to the party! I am also linking up to Get Your Craft on at Creative Blogs and Kimbas DIY party. Great ideas to be had at both places:>)
O, Kathy..is your Handmade thingy on Mon or Tues.? If it is Tues., I'll go back and link up with you....I'm tellin' ya, there's so much going on right now that I can't keep up with everyone....
ReplyDeleteREMEMBER...I'm OLD and I'm SLOW...:)
Hi Kathy,
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your skates... I just linked with my skates only I made a mistake in the title and just said My Skates instead of The Comforts of Home....:-)

Penny
p.s. you are right, great minds do think alike....xo
ReplyDeleteOh these skates are wonderful. I went on Penny's post this morning, and told her about such wonderful memories that white skates always create. We all remember those Christmas mornings when a pair of white figure skates were underneath the tree. I love what you did with these.

Love your skates. I'm gonna have to dig mine out of the basement and see what I can do. Errr copy. Mimi
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm kicking myself now! Last year I stood in a Goodwill near my home and held the cutest girl's skates in my hands for $3.99. Decided I didn't need to spend the money and add something more to my decorations - have 'kicked' myself ever since. Now that I see yours and Penny's I know I made the wrong choice! Yours are so cute. Thanks for sharing them.

Your skates are just beautiful and the ease and inexpense of it all puts it over the top!
ReplyDeleteKathy those are so cute! For some reason I thought it was just handmade gifts - I didn't know you were including decorations etc. I should have linked last week! Next time!

Hi Kathy. Your skates look so festive!
ReplyDeleteI just posted a question on my blog. Can you help me? Thanks! Trish
Love your skates! I found some last yearand they had never been out of the box! I was thrilled! I have thenm outside, hanging on an old sled. I guess I should take a picture shouldn't I??
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry about your ceiling! We had that happen several years back, our bedroom ceiling...not fun but it was a good story that got funnier every time we told it! Still does!
We had a small leak during a bad rain storm (Living in VA then). I noticed the spot on the ceiling as I was leaving for work. Bill was off that day.
He promised he would *see to it*...and so he did.
Yup, climbed into the attice space, slipped and hit the wet spot with his foor. Right through the ceiling. Then, for good measure, he came down with the other foot and bam. Right through in another spot. Our doxie was staring at him from her spot on the end of the bed..very grumpy because he had wakened her from her nap. : )
It was quite the mess...but we lived I guess! *laugh*
Love,
Sue
