And The Countdown Begins...

70 days until Spring. I can't wait, as I am sure the rest of you who have been trapped in sub zero temps and piles of snow agree. We are looking forward to balmy 40 degrees this weekend. In the meantime, I just keep plugging away at the quilt. The top is about half finished and I think I (mostly) fixed my wonky corners not meeting problem. Seems I was a bit aggressive in my ironing technique, things are meeting much better now thank you.
Victoria came home with these roses yesterday to show her appreciation.
Thank God for roses in January, and daughters who buy them for mom just because:>)
Stay warm!

  1. Good for you for fixing the wonky corners! You'll probably be happier with it. We have snow and it is cold but I don't mind it. We are able to get out easily. I do love warmer weather tho and it is always welcome.

  2. Those corners look great! This photo is so pretty. Quilts and roses go so well together.

  3. I was just doing a little whining to Mr. Comforts about being cold, having dry skin and cabin fever!

    Those roses are so pretty.

  4. Hi Kathleen Happy New Year to you and your family,
I love your quilt the colors and patterns are delightful. Quilts are made with love so no worries about everything being perfect. I look forward to seeing it done. I have a quilt just waiting to be completed but its in storage. I can't wait to get into my home and sew again.

    Sending hugs, Elizabeth

  6. Those roses!! A bright little spot on a gray winter day. That quilt's going to be gorgeous. I'm kind of a bright color girl myself. Mimi

  7. Yes the warmer weather has been a blessing but because we live out of town the roads and out longer drive have become hard to maneuver. Decided to work on cutting out some of my Farmers Wife blocks this afternoon and I also thought I would cut out a jumper for each of my granddaughters. But here it is 3:30 and I have just printed out the templates for the fabrics I have picked. Maybe on my days off later in the week I will finally accomplish something. Instead I decided to pop in on a few of my favorite blogs on my sidebar for a visit! Sometimes I just shrug off my wonky corners and think I am the only one that will ever know they are there unless my best friend comes over for a visit and she might just start ripping them for me.

  9. I sure wish I could send you some of our warmth and you could send us some of your water. We are parched in California. My Baby Bee keeps saying I'm just not in the mood for hot chocolate because it doesn't feel like winter. Stay cozy under that lovely quilt you're making.
