A Walk in The Woods
Today was sunny and 60 degrees. A fine Autumn day after a week of relentless rain and cold. I am taking a little time off from other responsibilities this week to recharge and I thought a walk in our woods was a fine idea. I was right. I followed the path into the trees. The cool quiet shade where every sound stood out. I heard something run away, maybe a squirrel, maybe a deer. I saw fire in the colors of a shrub and each leaf seemed like a jewel. Coming up to the old bridge over the creek, I heard frogs splash into the water as I approached. I heard a single leaf fall.
I listened to the trickle of crystal water as it ran past a fallen tree covered in velvet moss. Do you see the lichen on the tree? Such a beautiful color and texture. The leaves on the ground , like colored confetti, nature throwing one last party before winter.
I'm glad I could attend :>)

Heart and Home pillows
All listed in my etsy shop. I have two more that I am finishing that will be listed Monday. I can't say whether I will be making more of these before Christmas or not. I have several other projects I am working on that I think you will like and you know I like to do new things. Thanks for all the pillow love! You can't know what your support and enthusiasm mean to me. Now, I need to get a little cleaning done (you can't believe how many bits and pieces these pillows make! My floor looks like there was a fabric shredder going off !) I'm excited to move forward with some other plans and projects and do some planning for the holidays. They are fast approaching and I am determined to be ready. Have a wonderful weekend my friends. It's dark and gloomy and rainy here but that just means it's time to light some candles, bake some comfort food and nest a little:>) I'll see you next week!
Oh my goodness thank you all! The final two will go up 8:30 a.m. Monday. Thanks!:>) I will be taking this week and getting some things done around the house and then I will be back at work making more pillows for the Christmas season!

Hi
Yes, I am still around. Gosh, it's been almost two weeks. Life ya know? Sick for a couple days (I'm better now) and just plain busy. I snapped a photo of my work basket laying in the sunshine on the sofa this morning. I've been working on more pillows and I hope to have them listed on etsy by Saturday morning. Then I'm taking a break and getting some much needed cleaning and other projects finished. I'm still visiting my friends and keeping up with all your beautiful decorating and family news. I'll be back real soon, in the meantime, have a great weekend. If you have been waiting for the heart & home pillows, check Saturday morning, ok? I'll be chatting with you soon:>)

A Little Fall Color
Nothing says welcome like a wreath. My front porch flowers in red, white and blue had to go, especially after the heavy frost we had Saturday night. So I pulled out this old clearance sale berry wreath and tucked a few silk leaves in it for extra color. It works for me and it was free:>)
I also picked my 22 lb. pumpkin from the garden. I had another but the deer ate it last night, just one night before I planned to get it! They were/ are Cinderella pumpkins but the frost killed the vines and I don't think it will ever ripen to the pretty orange it should be. I'll start them sooner next spring because I love my pumpkin! Do you see the beautiful crab apples tucked around it? Darling husband found them for me in the woods. The tree just sprang from nowhere but the fruit on it is beautiful. We went back and cut some more branches and I tucked some in the urn on my front porch to add a little color to my dying geraniums.
I love decorating with natural things and I love the color on these crabapples. Perfect red and gold.
I even had enough to fill a vase and, with a few added maple leaves, it adds a nice touch of fall color to a corner of the living room.
I have another busy week ahead of me, but I feel like I accomplished one small thing just for me with this little touch of fall decorating. I hope you all take a moment to do something that makes you smile this week:>)
