I think I mentioned that I started a new job. now let me say right up front, I don't blog about work (big sigh of relief from co-workers) but I have to tell you something funny. I work with someone who has read my blog for a while. (Hi Loretta!) Small world or what!? There is something freeing about blogging, and I bet you all feel it too. It's your own little corner and you can chat about only the things you want to and I have to tell you I was a little nervous about working with someone who read the blog.

Why? Because, well, what if she finds out how boring I really am? What do you think she thought of that big stress zit and my bad hair day I was sporting on my first day, 'cause, I gotta tell you I was working the nerves about starting a new job.  (Hi Loretta!)
I can tell you this, everyone was sooo welcoming and nice, especially Loretta.  And guess what?

This place is so cool they even hand out pumpkins to the employees and have a pumpkin carving contest. You have to love a place like that:>) Do you think I can copy that Martha pumpkin up there?

So far, so good.  And that's the last work related post you'll see. Until I win that pumpkin carving competition......:>)

  4. I totally get it...I don't encourage people I know in real life to read my blog for that very reason. Blogs are wonderful outlets for the pretty, creative things in life but I think we would all rather keep our bad "hair" days to ourselves. Good luck with the pumpkin!

  5. I am so happy to hear you are in such a sweet place! I am betting you will have the most creative pumpkin! You have such a gift for the artistic!
Congrats on your 600th! I am such a bad blogger and real life has interrupted my blogger routine for a year now. But I do get around when i can and I so love catching up with you!
    Happy Fall sweet lady!
    Love,
    Sue

  7. Hi Loretta!

I know what you mean about what someone who meets you in real life will think about you after reading your blog. I usually don't post pictures of me having bad hair days either :-). Remember last January when I was recovering from shoulder surgery? All my pictures were headless lol.

I know you will win the carving contest! Can't wait to see your pumpkin!

  8. So glad you work in a good place. My 'best' boss is now one of my dearest friends. Kindred spirits, for sure. She would have handed out pumpkins, too. And I bet Loretta (hi, Loretta!) would not have read your blog if she didn't feel she shared much in common with you. How much fun to be in a place where you can be you! You go, girlfriend - win that contest!

  9. I have yet to let my friends know about my blog and only one relative besides my hubby and children know. I'm not sure why!
I'm glad you like your new job and hope you win the carving contest!

  11. You'll rock in that pumpkin contest!! I think there are people who read my blog that I would probably rather that they didn't...but I can't control that. If I put it out there I know it is "available". So with that in mind I'm conscious of what I talk about. I don't stifle myself but I am always careful about what people know about me...once it's out there...it's out there!!

  14. Lol..Kathy, this is funny. Unfortunately;, I can't relate as I don't work outside the home.:D
And, of course, you can carve a pumpkin like Martha Stewart??? Who can't? I'm sure she's cheating by using some really nifty little tools to get those cute little designs. But you can do it, can't you??? Cuz, Lord knows, I can't!! At least I don't have the patience to try unless, of course, I was in a pumpkin carving contest. hehe You go girl!!

  15. Knowing you design skills Kathy, yours will be amazing. I tried my hand at carving a pumpkin with the word WELCOME on it. It turned out horrible. I just refused to pay $30.00 asking price for one carved that way. I thought I could do it, but well pumpkins just aren't that easy.

I hope that you are enjoying your new job.
