A little springtime fluffing

I have had the past two days off from my school job so the mornings have been more or less free for a little feathering of my nest. Time to (finally) get all those boxes of Christmas decorations put in the attic (no I didn't just take them down, but I hadn't put them away yet!) and start looking at things with an eye toward spring and Easter. I love birds and nests and that is what I mainly decorate with. This is one of my favorite little boxes, I got it on clearance at a drug store, of all places, several years ago.
I don't have many bunnies in my home but I just picked this little one up at Joannes, along with a clearance package of moss balls. Have you noticed how few Easter decorations there are in the stores this year? I kept waiting for them to stock some and finally gave up, clearly they aren't getting any more at this late date. I would usually just make something but no time this year.l
And this little nest came from Kroger last year. One of my stone garden birds sits next to it and for a little whimsey I stuck in the cutest little tag from Sherry. I love her art:>) I still have more decorating to do. I am trying to use what I have and not get more (although I did already confess to some shopping at Joanne's didn't I?) Shame on me:>)
Now if we could just get some flowers growing outside...I just can't wait.

  2. Very cute things! I have never heard of moss balls. Are they seasonal?

  3. I feel what you are talking about -- I still have my Christmas things in boxes downstairs but haven't put them in the crawl space -- that's for this weekend. My husband took down the lights outside last weekend and I took out all the winter greenery from the urns today -- ready to get putting out bright, fresh, light spring decor!

  6. I love your Easter fluffing! I am glad you had a couple hours off. I miss you when you are working these two jobs. I normally don't decorate for Easter, but I won some Easter stuff from Tardevil...I am looking forward to getting it!

  13. Hi, Kathy - I love the pretty Spring things you have begun to display. And I love the fact that I'm not the only one who still had Christmas decorations to put in their final storage place! Thanks for sharing with us. Have a great weekend. ~Adrienne~

  16. The box you got from a drugstore is adorable! Yes, I've noticed that there's hardly any Easter stuff even at TJ Maxx! I didn't see anything I liked at Hobby Lobby last time I was there but I'm going Monday to have a look - maybe they're waiting until closer to the holiday to put stuff out?

  19. Spring is lookin' good around your sweet cottage. I am not a holiday decorator...other than Christmas. I don't have any Easter things much..one little bunnie that I use all year, with different ribbons around his little neck. Guess I'll put a pretty ribbon on him for Easter...
Glad you had a couple of days off...it sure helps the soul!
    hugs, bj

  20. Kathy, please do not let anyone convince you that there is something wrong with taking down Christmas stuff in March. Or even next March!! Ask me why i think this way. LOL. Does the chocolate bunny still have its head? Just wondering. LAS

  24. What beautiful fluffing, Kathy! I especially love the arrangement with the chocolate bunny. I have noticed too that Easter decorations in the stores aren't much this year. I wasn't going to buy more, but I always enjoy looking. Loved seeing your toile in the previous post.
