Books & Buttons

I ran to Kroger today for a few things and noticed a 75% off table of books. Well, you know I can't pass up looking over a sale like that! Turns out these books were already marked 75% off the regular price and when I used my Kroger card it took another 75% off! Sweet! One was $1.00 the other was $1.25. You can't beat that when you have an addiction to decorating books, that is less than most magazines!
Can you guess what this is? It has to do with the bedroom make-over. These buttons have been sitting in someones jar for 50 years or more. I debated whether to use them, and it was a tough decision because I am a bit of a hoarder when it comes to these little beauties, but in the end they deserve their day in the sun and to be seen don't you think? Why leave them in a jar for another 50 years? So, do you know what this is? All will be revealed soon, I promise:>)

I think they are either tie backs for the curtains or finals for the bed post or lamps...

And I have the Chic Country Style book and LOVE it!!!

I always have that same dilemma when i consider using up buttons or special fabrics. Glad you took the leap. It's a very pretty ball of buttons and I can't wait to see if it will be a tassel, or a lamp pull, or a tieback, or a suncathcher ......oh my.....don't make us wait too long :-)

Adorable! I love buttons. My dad used to get them for me at flea markets or auctions before he died. I love seeing your ideas!

The books are wonderful and what a find! I love curling up with those kinds of books on long winter days!
Can't wait to see what's happening with the buttons ...the suspense is killing me?

Mounted sideways on the wall, it could be something to hang necklaces from, maybe? Or maybe you could hang one of those old-fashioned handbags women used to carry, the metal kind?

Or perhaps it could serve as a closet doorknob if those buttons are superglued on?

A decorative accent to the four corners of a wall mirror (but you'd have to have three more, and I'm not sure you're willing to sacrifice that many buttons)?

I need to go to Kroger! I never shop there anymore.

I am horrible at guessing games, my first thought was a lamp finial, but then I thought maybe a fountain, lol...I am sure I am so way off base ;)

Nice to meet you,
Bella

Hmmmm.....is tht a button topiary perhaps? I tried making a button ball one time and it didn't come off to well. I ended up sending it to the thrift store. I wish I had those buttons back. Yours looks great!
I'm going to respond to your tag of sharing 5 loves starting tomorrow. It's been so long, do you even remember tagging me?
