I'm going to be a total tease about this and not give you the full picture of things until they are farther along. I don't know about you, but when I have a new sewing project like this I am so afraid to make that first cut into new fabric. I think the whole thing to death. So this time, I just did it, I cut and sewed the first set of curtains, and so far, I kind of like them.
But then, I am hedging my bets by telling myself that even if I don't love them when they are done, I can redo them into something else, like just valences over sheers. I'm going to feel free to play with this make-over. So far, amount spent is a whopping $5.00 for the bolt of fabric. I tore the lining out of the old drapes (a mistreatment worthy of the Nester) and sewed them into these. No extra cost there! I'm going to keep a tally on my sidebar of the money spent on this project. I hope to make a great bedroom out of thin air and not much more. Stay with me on this, I think the challenge is one I'm up to:>)

  2. You just go for it, sweetpea! I have no doubt you can do this. If I can do what I've been doing at my age, you will have this done quickly! I, however, am taking foreverrrrrr just to hang the silly "frou frou fluff" on the walls.........Sigh.......

  4. I'm the same way with new fabric Kathy. That's why I have so much in my closet. I think and rethink, then buy and rethink some more.

Your room is going to be so nice you'll want to curl up in there all the time. I can't wait to see what you come up with.

  16. Hi Kathy...

Thanks for your visit and comment about Credit Card Fraud.

Yes...each and every time we've gotten one of these calls, Tom calls his grown son and talks to him about the problem...just about 2 weeks ago...he talked to him again and told him he'd have to report him for Credit Card Fraud ~ is there anything else we need to be aware of. He blatantly LIED!! Not the first time ~ not the last!

He told Tom...nope, no more cards.

I really don't think he even knows how much he's gotten his dad and me in hock for!!!

  23. Kathy, this looks beautiful already. I just love that material over the sheers. I have been busy visiting Vermont and spending the last hours before school begins with my girls. This week they are both away, so I can catch up with seeing what everybody is doing. Stopped by here first, and saw your glorious window. I love it!! Karen
