Note to self:  Quit overindulging in sweets. You know you feel a little queasy after you indulge. The guilt isn't worth the momentary pleasure and if your body is a temple, well, lets just say the building program needs to come to an end.
Reply to self: Message recieved...but it seems like you could have reminded me of that before I baked the Apple Spice cake with chai spice cream cheese frosting just now.
Dang.

  9. Oh, I am the same way! If I didn't eat any sweets, I'd probably be a skinny minny. But I ADORE them.
And that cake looks sooooo yummy!

  11. Hey Kathy,
I baked some apple crisp yesterday for my sisters who are visiting. I have been eliminating excess sugar from my diet and made the mistake of eating some crisp before bedtime...terrible stomach ache all night. My body was rebelling !! No more sugar...I have learned my lesson.

  14. Kathy - put the fork down, turn around and walk slowly away from the cake. This is what I tell myself. Does it work? No ~ NEVER!
    Enjoy your Sunday

  16. Hi Kathy...I have been gone from blogging way too long, still not caught up from the trip to Jersey...the dog dying...getting the house back in order (that's not happening!!)....your cake looks yummy but I am officially on the "I have to lose 40 pounds by Christmas" diet....your Sweetest Day flowers were beautiful...so nice to hear that you and Earl have dates....that's too cute...and nothing says fall more then gourds on the porch...All I have so far is Bittersweet that I managed to clip while on Martha's Vineyard....the Fam allowed me to bring a little home in the SIL's car....they were afraid of bugs...I was so excited to see it growing everywhere....Now if the South could cooperate and have weather less then in the 80's I will be happy.....Sue.

  22. hahhhaa...my daughter says that something with lots of calories has to be REALLY great before she spends her calorie intake on it. A Ding Dong just doesn't cut it, she says. Now, she would be going after this delicious cake...can't wait to make one.
