I know, I'm on a break, but I just had to show you the pretty oops paint I picked up at Lowes while I was choosing my paint color for the dining room,(which turned out to be white but more about that later). I always check the marked down paint and for $1 I fell in love with this pretty greeny, bluish aqua. It looks great on this old chair and I think it might be a color I incorporate into the dining room and kitchen in small touches.
It is almost the color of the eggs our Aracauna chickens lay. The eggs look a lot more green in the photo but they really are a pretty good match in real life.
Pretty.
I have the dining room painted now (with Earl's help) and it feels so good to have that done. One more major thing off my checklist. It's white, that was a shocker for my family. My daughter Lauren laughed that she never thought she would see the day that I would paint a room white. I have to agree. But I just got tired of obsessing about the color. Life is too short to worry endlessly about the right color and shade of a room. The way I see it, this soft milky white goes with everything and anything I will want to put in there. So far I like how bright and clean and fresh it looks. No regrets. Maybe it was time for me to give white a chance:>)

I LOVE that color! Good choice.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful oops somebody made. I'm glad you snatched it up! I'm agreeing with you about the white or more neutral wall color. Working on my dining room too...I'm loving the more neutral background.
ReplyDeleteI love the color. So faint but oh so heavenly.
ReplyDeleteGood Afternoon Kathy.
ReplyDeleteYour chair is beautiful. I really like the softness of the color.
We have Rhode Island Reds, so our eggs are more of a cinnamon color. :o) Your eggs are beautiful! :o) Do your hens still lay regularly in the winter? We are only getting a couple here and there.
Ok ... since you are on a break ... I will keep this short. snicker snicker.
Sincerely ~ Tricia Anne
Hi Kathy
ReplyDeleteYour oops! paint is a great color and looks good on the chair. It must be the time of year for wanting white. I just painted our TV room white. I can't even remember when we last had white walls! The walls have panelling and it was a dull creamy beige and the white really brightens it up.
Hugs, Rhondi
I'm a regular at the Ooops counter ;-)
ReplyDeleteOh I love the color you found. I do the same thing...check the marked down unwanted paints. I have a lot that I use in my crafts etc. Love it!! It looks wonderful on the chair.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your dining room!
Oops! It is just a beautiful color! I only see muddy greens and browns at our Oops counter....
ReplyDeleteMiss you!

To catch up a bit... I love white and I don't think you can go wrong with it! And, I think it's great to be going back to school. I used to be a graphic designer (way back before computers and children) and it's a great career. The best of luck to you! ::Jill

ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS and i cant wait to see the finished room!
Hugs,
Amy
I love the color, Kathy. Very similar to the color that Marie painted "Grandma's room" at her house. a very "Florida" color. I agree with the lady above who said it should be a note card. Have you thought of that for your etsy store? Your photos are little masterpices. I know I would buy them if offered, even though I never write notes!! LAS
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful shade of blue! I love that color. I don't think I've ever painted any room white. A creamy beige is as close as I've come. But I always admire those all white rooms that the Swedish bloggers have. White is so restful and fresh and you don't have to worry about colors not working with it! Hope you show us some pictures when you're done!
ReplyDeleteManuela
I enjoy your blog and LOVE the paint color on the chair. I wonder what colors achieved the final result? I would love to know. Beautiful look! You do beautiful work, too.......the pillows, etc.
ReplyDeleteThe chair you painted will look so serene against the white. It is lovely.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!

ReplyDeleteI LOVE this color! Great choice! Very fresh and clean.
ReplyDeleteSo what color is the WHITE on your walls? I am going through this same dilemma for the guest room. What color of white ?????? to use?
I am sure that your room will be fresh and beautiful!

ReplyDeleteI'll look forward to seeing that colour in your pics.
Judi
