Hey hey, good lookin!

What'cha got cookin?  Our church is participating in the Great American Bake Sale this weekend to raise funds to end childhood hunger. I signed up to make three dozen snickerdoodles and Earl signed up to make 2 small dark chocolate mocha cheesecakes.
Oh the humanity!  I love these things. Even people who don't like coffee have been known to hoover this cheesecake and not share with their spouse or children. In church no less. Just another reminder that we are all sinners...

He also made a pan of his incredible brownies and covered them in more chocolate ganache.  All I can say is it's a very good thing that these are not staying around the house. I have no self control around that much chocolate.  Anyone out there participating in the bake sale where you live?  If you can't bake you can go to the website and enter your zip code to find the sale nearest you! What a fun way to fight childhood hunger!

  3. Can Earl come and teach my husband his way around the kitchen? Best not bring his recipe though...I'm like you, if it's here, I will eat it. My hips do not need the temptation!! Have fun at the sale, Kathy!

  5. You just uttered the magic words, sugar: chocolate cheesecake. Once while visiting Carmel, Ca. we ate at The Elegant Rooster and I had their chocolate cheesecake. It actually hurt my glands to eat it because of the richness. Never fear, I bit the bullet and ate every single bite, chick. I ain't to chicken. I loooooooved it.

  6. What a wonderful thing you are doing. It all looks so so good!!!!
Yum Yummy! I baked a pound cake today for my husband to take to Kentucky with him tomorrow for a week long turkey hunt. It did all I could do to keep from cutting it and eatting a big ole slice, especially since we have fresh strawberries and some whipped cream in the frig!!

  7. Now that's the cheery Kathy we're used to! I know, it's Friday, right? Woo Hoo!

I'm packing up hubby and the kids and we're moving in with you. Snickerdoodles are hubby's favorite and Earl's chocolate concoctions sound like heaven to me. And it's all homemade! Ahhhh!

  10. waaaaant!!!! lol. Hint of CINNAMON?!?! Is that how he made them before, because it sounds kinda gross with chocolate... But who am I kidding? I'd still devour it lol. How come he's never made ganache brownies for his BELOVED offspring before? Thos snickerdoodles look good too, and I'm betting you made the GORGEOUS box labels right? Maybe you should have spread a layer of ganache on the bottom of the cookies lol. Just to unite the whole group of sweets :) I LOVE YOU!!!! xoxoxo
