Happy Happy Anniversary to you both. I love the And counting... at the end. What would you say has been the "glue" that has kept your marriage intact for 31 years in this day and age? Our young people need to know things like that. You and Earl are good examples ~ keep it up!!
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone:>) Anita, I think the glue is that we both try to "outlove" the other person. We address each other in loving terms, even when we disagree. When we have both been so busy that we have barely spoken for a few days we put everything on hold and have a date and spend time focused on each other and talking about our goals and dreams. We never stop "dating". You know when you are going out you make special time together for fun and conversation. When that stops, things can go downhill. We aren't perfect, but we try to remember that protecting each others feelings when we disagree is important. Mutual respect and loving words go a long way. And it takes two to understand this and put it into practice.
