A special gift

I have said it before and I'll say it again. Bloggers have the biggest hearts! One of my dear blog friends Kathryn Bechen, saw that my husband had been laid off and sent me this wonderful book as an encouragement. It is published by Guidposts and inside is an article Kathryn wrote recounting her own struggles and a miraculous vision and help in a similar situation.
It is Kathryn's wish, that when I finished the book I send it along to someone else who was dealing with stressful times. I found this book so encouraging, I would love to pass it along and I hope that the next person to read it will do the same. Please, if you would like to read this, and see Kathryns own testimony, either comment or send me an email at kathyscottage@yahoo.com, telling me that you would like it and I will send it right out. Thank you Kathryn for your thoughtfulness and kindness. I am sure this book will be a wonderful ministry to so many!
P.S. I should have said that the first to request the book gets it! Jan, it's yours and I hope you will pass it along and let it continue to be an encouragement to someone else:>)

  5. Kathy ...what a beautiful gift and a beautiful gift to pass along. I love the idea of reading this book and then passing it on to someone else who might need some encouragement. I'll send you an email ...I'd love to be first to request that it be sent to me, but I'm sure I won't be the first. My life is in such turmoil now that our son and his family have moved in ...I never know when we'll have enough money for grocery's anymore or when the next bill will be paid. I try to not worry and just know that somehow things will be taken care of.

  6. Kathy, honey, I'm slow today getting around to the blogs so I saw your post and just wanted to ask how things are going with hubby's job search? Anything yet? Keep praying and I'm sure it'll be fine soon if not yet.

  10. I was laid off recently after 7 years at my company and so I know what your hubby is going through.

One thing I can say is that the tough times sure help us realize who and what is important in our lives.

How nice that you have Kathryn as a friend!

  12. Being divorced, alone and owning my own business, Faith and God has what has kept me going. I think I could give a testimony every day how God has kept me going.
What a wonderful friend to send you an uplifting book. I don't think one can every read too many of those.... Especially these days.
I will keep praying for you and your family.

  14. That was so wonderfully kind and thoughtful of Kathryn to send you an uplifting and inspirational book, the kind that keeps on giving. And how wonderful of you to pass it on. May you -- and your hubby's job search -- be doubly blessed for "paying it forward".

  15. We are going through a similar situation at my house. Only, it is not my husband, it is me. I will certainly hunt this book down. I would love to read it! I will keep you and your family in my heart and mind.

    Wishing you the best.

PS. When I was thrifting on Friday, I found a 1976 reprint of your 1969 Betty Crocker cookbook. I snapped it up and when I got it home, I found the recipe for a delcious Cheese Caraway bread that I used to make as a teenager. It absolutely made my day:-)

  17. Hi Kathy...what a lovely thing to do by passing the book along...both myself and my husband years ago lost our jobs just as our daughter was getting ready to apply to colleges. That was a hard hard time on all three of us...we managed and got thru it...it just makes you stronger...have a wonderful week, things do get better!!
