I've started a little cupcake paper collection, Michael's dollar bin is a favorite place for pretty papers, cheap and far cuter than what you can get at the grocery store. In the jar is the only way I'll be admiring these beauties for a while. Ahem. Still, they're a colorful touch on the counter and they leave me dreaming of spring with their bright florals and ruby red strawberries and cheery dots.
I finally found my camera manual just this morning. I've made a little list of areas in the house that need to be purged and the first place on my list, there were the manuals. Proof that cleaning and organizing can be beneficial:>) Tomorrow I'll sit down and start going through the basics. Time to really begin to understand what I'm doing when I point the lens at something!  How about you? Are you tackling anything new this month?

  1. These are adorable. I've found some cuties at HomeGoods as gifts for my goddaughter, who likes to make cupcakes. I'm doing some major paper purging. Today is magazine day.

Glad you found the manual! I have much tossing and cleaning to do. Youngest goes back to school tomorrow and on Monday, that room is my first place to purge!

  5. Those are so cute!

I do so wish we had a Michaels closer to us...

Tis the season to start purging, I guess. I've got the bug to do it, too. I'm going to try to see what I can come up with for the upcoming quiz garage sale as I go, but am not loving the idea of keeping the stuff around once it's in boxes, kwim?

  7. What a wonderful idea. I'm holding off a bit on cupcakes as well (I love cupcakes!) but now I can enjoy the happiness of the beautiful liners. A spot on the counter will be holding this. Thank you for the joy! Happy New Year.

  9. Your cupcake 'collection' is adorable! Think I might need to make a trip to Michael's soon.

One of the things I'm going to tackle is the same as yours with your camera - get it off of 'Auto'! I need to sit down with the DVD and the manual and slowly work through it. I have several very good photography books that need to be read! I'm also lining up a furniture re-do project or two and trying to catch up a couple of small sewing projects for two family members. Think I'd better get busy!

  12. Thanks for the heads up about the cupcake papers at Michaels.

I am finishing things this month. I make that a priority in January to try and finish old projects before beginnning new ones. I cleaned and purged just before Christmas so I'd have time to concentrate on unfinished business.

I am in the midst of getting my booth put together this week. It should be all set up over this weekend and I can get back to creating more things to put in it!

  17. You just proved how the simplest of things can bring pleasure! I have lots of cupcake liners too but no Michaels close by. The first thing on my list to do is clean the freezer. I also need to learn to use my new sewing machine that I got three months ago! Can you believe I haven't even threaded it yet!!

  18. Hello, I am sat here going around the world by blog hopping, much prefer doing that to going on FB, never can work that site. I am also learning about my camera which I have had for 2 years!! One of our sons-in-law showed us bits on it I didn't know about . So off we went to the shore the other night to photograph the sun setting to use this feature, it turned out great. So I am going to use the camera a lot more this year, especially when out geocaching. Also I want to learn more about my iPad I bought in Singapore a month ago.........so that's a challenge as I am no techie that's for sure lol. I also want to do more geocachers, and be busy with my tiny B&B.

  20. How striking! The colors in that jar...it's art!
I have a weakness for cupcake papers although I hardly if ever make them.
When you figure out those buttons...teach me...I cannot read a manual to save myself. I'm all about that automatic button!

  24. This just is so creative!! I think it feels like a work of art! Following manuals.....it must be a woman thing, for men don't do that, do they? lol

  25. I bought same of those same liners. They are irresistable aren't they? No cupcakes actually sounds like a terrific idea...no fun but a good idea anyway.

I'm hoping to tackle some new projects for my Etsy store. I've got a couple of other personal sewing projects that need to be done first.

  27. Great idea! I'm going to go find something I need to learn for this cold and dreary time of the year. Glad you're feeling better. The cheesecake bites sound delish. I'd hang on to him if I were you. Mimi

  29. Hi Kathy,

I love your papers collection. I do have some things on my "to do" list. One of them is to get back to learning more about Photoshop, and yes my camera too. The fun things first, and then onto tackling some organization projects around the house.

    Wishing you a lovely evening.
