Happy First Day of Spring! ♣

My favorite day of the year. Bar none.
Thanksgiving? Lovely. Christmas? Holy.
Spring? Longed for, dreamed about, celebrated... I can't help myself.  More sunshine, thunderstorms, green grass, tiny shoots of pretty plants, and the garden, picnics outside, flowering trees, waking up to bird song, flowers, blue skies, laundry hung on the line and getting into a bed that smells like breezes, longer days, and nights where the cool air and sound of spring peepers lulls me to sleep through open windows.  Spring is my season.
What is your favorite thing about Spring? What do you look forward to the most?

  1. Spring always seems like a time of beginning, when we are planting seeds, waiting for warmth in the ground to put in new plants, and enjoying the sudden rush of colour in the garden. Lovely!

  4. Beautiful photos Kathy. Happy Spring to you.

I love green shoots coming out of the ground, longer days, eventually green buds on the trees. It is really the "new" year for me.

  5. I love everything about Spring. It's a new beginning - new colors appear, new baby creatures, new hope! Love the flowers and whatever tells us that winter is past!

  6. I love to see new leaves shooting out from dried stalks, spiky leaves pushing up out of the ground. The rain and thunderstorms that Spring time brings. The smell of freshly dried sheets from the clothes line.
Yesterday I could hear thrashing and crunching of leaves, so I went on a hunt to see what it was. It was birds! The were spinning and fluffing and digging. It was a joy to see how happy they were that Spring time is here.

  8. Happy Spring! Am I the only one or what but Spring is my least favorite season. Springs can be very windy here in Kansas. However Easter is my very favorite holiday. Doesn't make sense does it!

  9. I was sure, as I scrolled, that I would find a picture of Brian. ;-)
Now even I should be able to remember his birthday. You probably should add him to the list of things you love about today-a mil always can use more points, right?

Sorry I didn't have time to stop to see the kitchen today. Tomorrow is another possibility-if it might work, I'll give you a call.

    Love you-and Happy Spring!

  14. Sigh. I am so with you and these are some of the happiest pictures I've seen in some time. I look forward to throwing the windows open and to getting my hands in the dirt. And to eating as many dinners as we can on the back porch. And to taking walks in the green space. Apparently I look forward to just about everything Spring has to offer. Thunderstorms...sign.

  15. You are so right! My favorite thing about spring - by far - is the plants and birds coming back. The sun shines, the green pops out of the ground, and I'm a happy camper!
The images you chose for this post are beautiful. :)

  16. Happy Spring to you to! I look forward to seeing things bloom and being able to garden. Although something is eating my veggies! I've planted twice and something is eating everything down to a nub!
