Putting My Feet Up

Well guess what? The wedding was beautiful.  I wish I could show you how beautiful. I took my camera and got nothing but a few very bad shots. All of these photos were taken by guests and thank goodness they got some good ones.  I was off chatting with someone when the cake was cut and by the time I realized what was going on it was over. So a big thank you to my sister who caught it. I grabbed the photo from her blog.
This little lady very nearly upstaged the Bride.  We had so much fun with her the day of the wedding. We all went to get our hair done together. She had us in stitches with her commentary of the traffic jam we found ourselves in getting out of the salon, and she glowed all day.
She and her cousins danced the night away.
And almost every photo I have seen had her in it. She was the life of the party!
She came all the way from Ohio to be flower girl and it was the best visit ever:>) Here she is with the bride and groom and her Gramps.
Victoria's grandmother had a great time too, and the cousin next to her got some great shots of the wedding.  But me?  Not so much.  I was having too much fun talking, visiting, watching the dancing, (and dancing a little myself) to take pictures.  So the real sharing will have to wait until those photos come back.  This week I have been putting the house back in order and sleeping like a log. I'll share more when we get the real pictures back from the photographer and as they come in from our unofficial photographer for the night, the flower girls Daddy:>)
Right now I'm off to put my feet up a little more and slowly put things back to normal.

  2. Oh beautiful! Loved the commentary on the commentary. ☺

It must be, on the one hand, a relief and, on the other, something like coming down from a high. So much time and planning on such events and you outdid yourself! That reception looks amazing. Too bad you "missed" so much of it while you were off chatting and dancing. LOL!

Beautiful bride and adorable flower girl. I love the look she is getting from her little dancing partner.

  3. You have been on my heart and in my prayers all week, my friend. I remember those days after our daughter's wedding and I knew you were probably breathing again and resting. The wedding looks wonderful. I can't wait to see more and hear all about it.

  5. Better to enjoy the moment than to be behind the camera. Looks like it was beautiful.

  7. The role of "mother-of-the-bride" is the more important than trying to take photos. These are beautiful - and I'm glad you are putting your heels up and relaxing. ahhhhh.....must feel so good!

  8. Delighted to hear it was a beautiful day and enjoyed by all. The bride and flower girl are just beautiful and look so happy. I adore the color combination of the paper poms in the windows. Enjoy your much deserved rest and I hope you'll share more pictures later.

I'd say you deserve some rest time...weddings are so time consuming and, oh, so wonderful.

  11. What a beautiful wedding, I peeked on Facebook when you first put some photos up. Your daughter looks radiant and it certainly looks like everyone enjoyed themselves. My daughter Sarah is getting married on September 14th, so I am back in Massachusetts helping her plan the wedding.

Put your feet up Kathy and enjoy the memories.

  13. Hi Kathy....the bride looked beautiful...you must have been so proud...and that little girl was so cute...kids love weddings....and don't feel bad that you didn't get a lot of pictures....I looked like a moron at daughters wedding carrying around a big 35MM camera on my shoulder (including walking down the aisle of the church) I don't know what I was thinking....ofcourse if you remember my wedding post my dress also caught fire with sparklers...so it sounds like you did real well and had a lot of fun...can't wait to see the pictures..

  15. I'm just so happy that you were able to enjoy the day! Leaving the photography to others is a very good idea. You will so enjoy looking at all of them!

  16. Just beautiful! You're supposed to enjoy the day and not be the photographer! :)

I'm sure you are sleeping like a log! Now you can relax a bit I hope.

Looking forward to seeing more photos of the wedding when they come in!
