One of the things I struggle with in this blog is just how much to reveal personally. I am sure it is the same with you. Not that I don't want to be real, because I've always been a heart on my sleeve kind of person. But the reality is that the internet is out there for everyone. You can't forget that. You really don't know who is reading, what the information will be used for, etc. Everyone goes through tough times, emotionally, personally, and while I can't do a whole lot of complaining because God has been very good to us, I am going through a bit of the rain right now that falls into every life. I'll work through it, I hope I'll learn something useful from it. But I just don't have a whole lot to give right now. I need to take the rest of the month off. I think. I'm not sure how much time I need really. There are a lot of changes happening right now, and I can't say that I am happy about them. Don't give up on me. Say a little prayer for wisdom for me. I miss you already.

  1. Hey kiddo, when the rain falls and you're outside what do you do? You grab an umbrella or run for protection...no different when the moods are rainy ... we go for cover. Which is the smartest thing to do...and we've all had those times and will again no doubt. Just know that you have a lot of good thoughts and wishes from those who care about you.

As for revealing things on the blog - you make such a great point about "who" can read what you say, what you think -- some people you might know, others total strangers. Although I never revealed a lot of personal details on my old blogs, that was one reason I closed them and opened a new one. I began to feel too vulnerable and exposed...with the new one I intend to keep a lot of "me" out of it and that makes me happy.

Sending you sunshine to warm your soul my friend ♥

  2. I hear you on the "Internet is out there for everyone." I think I am experiencing that myself right now. Not sure what to do!? But I do understand you being so busy and needing to take some time off. You will be missed!

  4. Kathy,
I took most of last summer off from blogging. Too many things that were rocking my world, and I just did not have it in me to share.
Take as much time as necessary. And I am praying for you now.

  5. Kathy, in my Sunday School class we pray for worries and concerns that are unspoken. I will be saying my prayers for you and hoping that things are OK.

  6. Remember its always darkest before the dawn. God wants all of us and knows all about us. Be patient and wait on God he never fails us. He is there with us through it all. We have all been there in one way or another. Take care we will be praying for you.

  7. Kathy, I understand what you mean, honey. I'm pretty careful what I reveal and don't divulge anything truly private like dirty laundry. I just don't think the internet is the place for it. I try to keep my daily activities which are usually quite humorous anyway on th' blog but truly private??? Nuuuuuu, this is a sacred house and I keep those matters private. I hope your trial isn't a "life changing" one because those can be the worst of all sometimes. Good luck with what you are struggling with, chick, and get back to blogging as soon as you feel comfortable. We ALL have trials, ya know.......

  9. I hear ya! I'll say a big prayer instead of a small one. Then I'll say it again and again.
I didn't do the best wrap job on you-know-what...let me know if ONE thing isn't right. I want to know. I just put it in a box to measure for fit and ended up sealing it with no packing at all. In a hurry trying to tend to 3 boys.

  11. Hi Kathy!

Although I don't know your circumstances, I do recognize the angst and stress your are expressing...it is all too familiar to me...I will definitely lift you and your family up in prayer at this time. And I can say with certainty that the darkness of the hour will indeed pass and the light will shine forth again soon. We'll still be here when you emege on the other side of this...we will miss you and your sweet presence here for sure, but we know God is doing His thing in His time, and we'll flow with that with you!

Remember - you are safely in the palm of His hand - He will never leave you or forsake you...

    Hugs & Blessings,

  14. Kathy,
Before our lives changed without warning, we were all enjoying a place where we could share a recipe, a creation or a decorating tip. Blogging was a place to get lost for a while with a cup of coffee and lots of eye candy.

I also find it hard sometimes to keep my private life from showing. I don't think it is fair to burden people when they too have their own problems and are looking to blogland for a little escape.

You always do the right thing, and I just know that God is going to bless you.

    Blessing, Karen

  15. I try to be careful and I try not to use really private information. I think maybe in this day and age if someone wanted to find out about you they could with or without having a blog.

I am sorry you are going through a hard time and I will pray for you and wait until you feel like coming back. It is hard work to have a blog and it takes time and if your life is demanding a lot of time too I think it could be very hard.

    God bless you.

  18. Kathleen Grace,

I will be thinking of you everyday and praying for you. You are a very special person & there are many out here who love and cherish your sweet, intelligent and spiritual self. Take all the time you need...sometimes things can't be put in words...

I was late in reading your post on "reinventing" but the comments were very revealing. It seems 90% of us are having the same push & pull battle with who we are and who we want to be. We have defined ourselves by how we have raised our children and kept our homes. Sometimes it feels like I am being cast aside by my kids to whom I gave my all and my husband continues to work & do all the things he has been doing for the last 35 years so he doesn't even have to consider changes... so yes, I'm confused. I know I will keep growing inside & out and I pray that I will always have the grace of God to guide me.

Thank you for getting us all thinking. You are a sweetheart!

    xoxo
    Jane

  19. I understand exactly how you feel about revealing information on the internet. I've chosen not to post pictures of my children or grandchildren because, as you say, you don't know who is reading our blog.

We'll miss you, but you need to take care of yourself right now and work through the changes that are happening in your life. I know that if you seek the Lord's wisdom, He will give it.

    Blessings,
    Wanita

  20. Yes! I've thought the same thing you have. I have been reluctant to talk about my kids on the net because you don't know who's out there...but that is not like me at all. I am so proud of them! You take all the time you need away from this. We all understand. And sometimes, it's not that easy to come up with stuff to say especially when you don't want to reveal too much. Hope whatever you are going thru, that everything will work out and be okay for you.

  21. I am very careful to keep out all last names, locations, and personal trials and cares. I have only been blogging for not quite a year, and I enjoy it so much, although at times I do have questions about what to, and not to share. I am hurting with you in whatever situations that you are facing, and I will remember you in prayer whenever God brings you into my mind. You are a tremendously gifted lady and when the time is right for you...we will welcome you back.

  28. Oh yes, yes, yes. Don't forget that what we blog, goes out to the World Wide Net.

Best of good wishes to you, during your rainy time. Yes, they come to all of us. And also yes, take as much time as you need, from blogging.

To blog, should be to give us joy. In my humble opinion, that is. If/when it's a chore, drop it. Give all your energy/attention to this period of your life.

Best wishes and gentle hugs, meantime...

  42. Sorry, to hear you are going through a rough time right now! I agree with you about keeping private things private, yet wanting to be "real" with your bloggy friends because it's a way of connecting with others. I think your blog post was vey wise and liked the way you put across what you're going through without endangering yourself through providing TMI (too much information).
God bless you! I just said a quick little prayer for you. Thank you for taking time to visit my blog today! I really appreciated your fun comment! :)

Must be very careful, never mind the weirdos who left weirdo relgious comments about my poetry, thus no more poetry on the blogs, just for journals now. Aside from that, hope you are doing well. I just look at your aprons and am cheered by them. Big hug, little darlin'. As my mom aways says, and I always believe her, "Things will get better. You'll see."

  47. Sometimes we all have a little rain falling in our lives. And ...sometimes we just need a little time to get in from the rain. We will miss you Ms. Kathy, but rest assured we will all be here when you return. Take care of yourself ...have faith ...and remember this too shall pass.

I wanted to let you know that I was getting the little book you sent me 'Miracles' ready to send off to the next blog reader. While again looking through it ...and feeling a little low with things going on here I opened and found a phrase which just went straight to my heart.

'Surrender. Just surrender the circumstances to Him,
    stop flailing, stop trying to
do it all on my own power,
    and all would be well.
Have faith. Trust in a divine outcome.'

I am new to your blog. I know what you mean about revealing too much information. I have a blog set up, and have not posted yet. It's like being on the diving board and not being ready to jump. Sorry to hear your having some rain in your life right now. My mom used to say, "In everyone's life a little rain must fall". Just keep the faith, and this too shall pass. Hope your feeling better and blogging again soon.
