I never used to be into blue and white plates, and then I saw some of the beautiful blue and white displays around blogland and fell in love with them. I began collecting them here and there at Marshalls and yard sales and today I put a small display up over my buffet.  The chalkboard was made for me by my sweetheart, the curlicues and flourishes were done by Victoria, the curlicue queen.  I printed the words out in different fonts and used chalk markers for our family rules board. The lighting was horrible by the time I got all the plates on the wall today, so I apologise for the blurry photo, but I just couldn't wait to show you. I love it.
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Mine was the best! Friday off from work, Victoria home from school for the weekend, a little sewing, and sunshine and lots of cuddling and some movies. It doesn't get any better. Now another work week begins, but it sounds like I may have a snow day or two mid week. Eight to ten inches is the forecast. Batten down the hatches, have you had enough snow yet?

  1. Kathy, it looks wonderful! I love, love, love that it!

We had mid 60's this weekend and sunny. It was wonderful, but we are suppose to have rain and in the 40's mid week. I wanted to go out and play in the garden it was so nice, but I know that winter is still here.

    Have a wonderful week.

  2. Hi Kathy! Oh, I love your wall of blue and white plates and the chalkboard looks lovely! What a nice happy space!
    Be a sweetie,
    shelia ;)

  3. YES YES YESSSSSS I am so done with all the snow!
I am ready for spring!!!! :-)

Love the chalk board..... and the plates look wonderful! You are so very blessed!

    Stay warm sweet friend,

  4. Hello Kathy,
I have gotten into plate hanging also. I see so many pretty plates at thrift shops and garage sales...I can't pass them up.

Glad you had such a lovely weekend

  5. You have a great focal point in your room. My mother never dressed us in blue when we were young, and now it is one of my favorite colors.
Yes, let's hope we can avoid all thoughts of snow this week!

  6. Looks great! I also have a few plates hanging on the walls. Blue is my kitchen color.
Snow coming here too...sure don't want anymore!

  7. I love it!! Just fantastic. I'm so out of the loop, I didn't even know there was such a thing as chalk markers! I am so sick of snow! I'm in denial about the storm this week. I'll still be in denial when I can't get out of the driveway! :)

  8. The whole display is beautiful. There's nothing quite like blue and crisp white plates. They're very classic and elegant, but not fussy. And that chalkboard! Wow! What a work of art. Love it!
    Patricia :o)

  9. Good Morning Kathy. :o)
Love your sweet chalkboard. :o) And your plates look so pretty around it! I have a few blue and white through out and also love the added beauty they bring. :o)
    Your weekend sure sounded wonderful!!
    Have a great week.
    Sincerely, Trish

  10. Oh good heavens yes, I have DEFINITELY had enough snow! lol Your buffet looks wonderful, Kathy, and I love the display of blue and white!

We're supposed to get a mixture of snow, sleet and freezing rain -- Woo-hoo! Or maybe that should be Boo-hoo...

    Stay warm!

  11. It's Boo Hoo, Mary!
Kathy, your plates look lovely, and to answer your question, I am sick of snow. But I have nothing to say about it.
It is so deep my little gkids can't even go out and play in it!

  12. OOO, I love that chalk board so much I could just marry it!!
Your blue and white looks fabulous above that KILLER buffet.

  13. Beautiful and fun wall :)
I have a stack I've been collecting but can't decide on a wall!
    Y'all stay warm :)
We had one warm day and guess what hatched?

  14. Oh gosh, how cute for Valentines Day!
No snow for us in Southern California...but someof it has to be fun!

  15. Why, yes thank you, I've had plenty of snow! Not quite done for the winter here though. Love it all. Mimi

  16. Hey Kathy, your chalkboard is beautiful and the plate are too (I think I have one or tow of them myself!) The scrolls your daughter did are so pretty. My daughter loves to do caligraphy and such - some day I am going to have her paint some bible verses around my walls! Have a great week and keep warm!
    It's cold over here! BRRRR!

  17. no snow here .... just lots and lots of gray fog ... and ccccc - old!

kathy, your blue and white dishes are awesome! but moreso is the chalkboard. just too stinkin' cute! i love all of the words that are near and dear to your heart.

    much love,

  18. We've been snowed in for two days now.

Your wall looks wonderful. I love the plates and the way you've grouped them. Nice!

  19. Love it! Your plates are wonderful and your family rules board is just right.

  20. Your setting looks lovely with the dishes. I inherited lots of blue and white china, so it gets incorporated here and there even though I'm not normally a blue person.

Sounds like you had just the kind of weekend I love!

Thank you for taking the time to say hello :)
