Just a couple more things for etsy, still haven't finished painting the bedroom, (sigh) hope to do that Saturday morning (another sigh) I have spent a little time shopping for essentials for college with youngest daughter. Fun. Expensive. School is racing up on me and I am not ready. Not ready to drop her off and turn around and come home without her. Not ready to go back to the daily grind of being a lunch lady. Not ready to see Autumn rolling toward me with winter on her heels. Am I worrying about all this too soon? Probably. But this last month of summer sometimes feels like a week. Over too soon. Back to work. I hope to get plenty of etsy stuff done before my regular job starts. I still haven't weeded the garden yet. Ah well, the butterfly bush and lilies are blooming nonetheless. Thank goodness they don't seen to mind:>) See you soon.

  6. I'm afraid I had the same thoughts today as I crossed the last day of july off on my calendar. Here in Maine the winters can be very long & cold, so every sunny day is a treasure.

    Love the blue bird!

  12. Love the colors in that heart.
Almost an object lesson of the heart washed clean by the blood of the lamb and made white as now.
The red and white here show the contrast beautifully.

  13. How about if you and me be like Miss Scarlett and worry about it tomorrow. I don't want summer to end either--the heat maybe but not the schedule.

    Beautiful additions for your shop!

  15. Oh, I adore that precious red heart...and the little blue bird is perfect!!
I haven't been able to get one thing done, really, all summer long...and now, summer is almost over. Out here in West Texas, even Sept. is hot, usually so I guess we still have a little summer left.
I am not worring about work, tho...I just wanna GO somewhere...ANYWHERE...
    love, bj

  21. Cheerful and precious items.

You will eventually get so used to your daughter being away that it will seem strange to have her home!I now sooooo enjoy the peacefulness when my youngest son goes back to college, HA!!

  22. Your blue bird is heavenly -- such a perfect shade!

Your comment about our beloved Michigan on Tales from an O.C. Cottage -- the economy stinks but at least the houses don't shake -- had me rolling on the floor. True. So sad, but so true!

  25. Hi Kathy,
I can sure understand how you feel about how fast time goes by. I don't blame you for wanting it to stop for a little while. Kids do grow up so fast! Love the little blue bird. I went into your etsy shop and it's already gone. Good for you!

  26. Kathy, I am so with you, I want to put on the brakes and say "No" not August already. We have had such a peaceful summer without the grind of school. I sent my daughter Sarah to college two years ago and I cried and felt so sad. I wanted to tell you the good part. She started calling me all the time and we would laugh on the telephone all the time. Then she would come home so often because they have so many holidays and they are longer stretches than regular school. Our relationship went from being mother and daughter to two friends. She even asked me to go to Toronto with her this Spring break! OMG. Your new creations are beautiful. Karen

  32. I'm with you! Feels like I waited forever for Summer to get here. I'm not ready for Fall to start yet. My son is a senior this year - He'll be 18 in February. He thinks he'll get an apartment the moment he turns 18, though I've informed him that it would be nearly impossible to homeschool him that way - lol! Blessings... Polly

  36. Hi Kathy,
I love these creations so much. You know there is this wonderful shop in the historical town called Concord, in Massachusetts. There is a store where they sell beautiful things mostly related to theme of birds and nests. They have a very gorgeous shop filled with antiques, new journals and trinkets, vintage things and birds nests everywhere. Their web site is very rustic, but there is contact information. Perhaps if you contacted them and gave them your blog address they might want to sell you lovely creations.

    Nesting on Main

The shop is run by three lovely women who are very nice.

P.S. That place I go to is called Lady Fatima Shrine. Such a lovely park.

    Have a wonderful day. Karen
