25 Days of Christmas ~ Sit By the Fire

It's a rainy, dreary day here. The perfect day to sit by a nice warm fire. Except...we don't have a fireplace.  No matter, I make up for it by building a fire in a bamboo tray. Birch log candles add a little more realism.  Why should I let no fireplace ruin my fun?
The soft plaid flannel pillows have migrated to the living room because they are just so darn snuggly and warm.  Who cares if they are red plaid on red plaid? Can you really get too much red plaid?
Really?
In these dark days of winter, (tomorrow is the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year!) we all need a little more light and warmth.
Whether you have a fireplace or not, you can still enjoy the fire's glow:>)

  1. I see a cozy spot on the couch I could curl up on and we could talk...

  3. Looks like a comfy spot to me also! We have 2 fireplaces and neither are burning today. Mostly because I'm afraid to go out and get the wood with all the ice we have. Not fun to fall! We will have to bring some in tomorrow, when it warms a bit and the ice melts. Love your red plaid pillows by the way!

  4. I love those candles...
I have no fireplace in this new home of ours but I love using all the candles...and no messy ashes to take out. :)
Love your red plaid on red plaid...

  5. Very cozy. I love dreary days. We have a wood stove so I get all wonderful sounds of logs crackling as it warms up the house.

  10. That's so pretty and cozy looking! We don't have a real fireplace either and we do the same, light candles in the faux firebox.
