The dog days of summer. I have been MIA around here lately, trapped in the doldrums. So much to do, so little time to get it done. Trying to organize, decorate, trying to get my baby ready for the move to the University (Sept. 1) Looking forward (not) to going back to work (Sept. 2). The summer has flown and I look back and wonder what I did with it. In a way it will be good to get back to my work routine, too much time on my hands seems to make me lazy and unproductive. I need the pressure of a faster paced day to light a fire under me. But I am not looking forward to it. So for the next two weeks I will try to get things buttoned up for the summer and hopefully enjoy the time I have left. Time flies doesn't it? And the summer flies fastest of all.

  1. Hi Kathy,
Yes, time does fly by so fast. It's been so hot here, that I was WISHING it to go by fast. Now that school is about to start, I wish it hadn't gone by like that. Is the university very far away? I'm not sure how I'll do when it's time for my kiddies to fly the coop. I'm not ready for that just yet.
    Blessings,
    Patricia :o)

  2. Hi Kathy love the photo on this post.
You are right having time on our hands can tend to make us a bit lazy - we all need to have a routine to get us moving in the right direction.
Enjoy what is left of your summer break

  3. I agree....where has the summer gone? I'm not looking forward to cold weather and being in the house all the time.... I always think of "back to school time" as the end of summer and into a more discliplined lifestyle.

  4. Time does fly, and I'm convinced summer flies fastest of all. I am really not ready for it to end yet.

  10. I think this summer is one of the fastest ones ever! But then I always hear that time goes faster the older you get. Does that me that I'm 'older'? Enjoy your next couple of weeks.

  12. I know just what you mean, Kathy! I tend to get a lot more done if I have a lot to do. Unless the job seems overwhelming, and then I just don't get anything done!

Enjoy the rest of your summer. Bring lots of tissues when you drop your baby off at school. :)

    Love the photo!

  13. The summer has gone by quickly but I'm sure ready for fall. The heat just wipes out all my energy.

I know what you mean about work. I seem to get more done when I'm on a schedule than when I'm left on my own.

Enjoy your last two weeks of freedom!

  14. Oh my gosh Kathy, I feel EXACTLY the same way as you! I have been walking aroung here (being very lazy I might add), wondering where the summer has gone!! AND, I hate how lazy I have been!! I need to be FORCED to get up early and get things done!! September second will be here so fast. And then I will cry because I miss my boys and being lazy, lolol!

Enjoy the rest of your summer!

  16. Just thinking of you taking your baby to school makes a big lump come up in my throat. I so remember, like it was yesterday, when my little boy went off to college and I thought life would NEVER, EVER be the same...of course, it was ok after I got used to it and he wasn't too far away that he couldn't come home on weekends. The only thing, he met a GIRL, got married in his last yr of college so he really never came back to LIVE at home. BUT, they did move here close.....
I am having a hard time letting go of summer....I just didn't get to enjoy enuf of it. Oh, but I will enjoy winter this yr..no hurting, can do more things....soooo looking forward to CHRISTMAS!!
    love, bj

  20. I used to have summers off too, and all that unstructerd time was not good! I was constantly putting off "till tomorrow". It will be hard to start back to work for you, but after a few days the routein will settle in and I think you'll actually feel better!

  25. Kathy, every time I see an advertisement about going back to school, I turn the channel. I love summer when my girls are home and it feels just like when they were little. I love summer, it gives us a chance to just stop for a while. Have a wonderful week. P.S. I am just glancing down at your collage of awards. I like this idea. Karen

  26. I feel as if the days just speed by and I don't get enough done. Why do we always feel like we have to get a lot done? I wish to sit and enjoy the summer days while they are still here ...so just enjoy! They will be gone before you know it.
