Tis the Season...

I can't be sick, I can't be sick, I can't be sick....I woke up Saturday morning with a sore throat and snuffly nose. Just a cold I'm sure. Only thing is, I'm helping to cook a fancy church dinner for 102 friday and I can't be sick! Traverse City cherry chicken, stuffed pork loin, and my best vegetarian lasagna for the few that won't eat meat. Redskin potatoes, green beans, field greens with almonds, mandarin oranges and Earl's homemade raspberry viniagrette. Oh, and he is making 3 kinds of cheesecake and a chocolate torte for dessert. I love a man that knows his way around the kitchen:>) So, now it is 5 p.m. and I am slipping into my cozy flannel p.j.'s grabbing a box of tissues and some tea and watching t.v. Do I have a million things I could do around the house? Could I be working on etsy projects? Sure, except I am pretty sure you don't want my germs on the etsy stuff, right? So I am giving myself the night off and praying that I am all better before the dinner. I will be sharing recipes, and the decorations, just not tonight. Send some prayers up for me if you get a chance:>) It's only a cold but I feel like crap.

  3. Hi Kathy -
Take care of yourself! I'll pray that you get over this quickly. I've been under the weather with the same thing for the past week. For some strange reason colds usually hang on longer for me than most other people. I'm doing better today and actually got out and about a bit. I decided this is the one and only cold I'll have all season!

  8. I just got over being sick. It wasn't a cold, chills, fever, headache and I think my brain was swollen because I seem to have gotten extremely stupid. I even was good and got my flu shot two weeks ago.

I hope you feel better, three days coming, so let's think they passed already, three days here, that makes Wednesday...which means you should be feeling much better by Thursday, you'll be there Friday with a slightly pink nose and sniffles behind you!!!! Three kinds of cheesecake huh? Maybe you'll feel terrific!

    Blessings, Karen

  9. Have someone go out and get some AIR BORNE at your drug store or get the store's brand. IT WORKS...it helps you feel better quicker and I've used it for a couple of years. It's all natural with vitamin, mineral, and good stuff for your body. I don't get paid, it's just works..
    Feel better soon.

  13. Hope you are feeling better. It is hard to sit still when you have so much on your mind about the things you need to be doing. Putting on your jammies and taking an evening off sounds wonderful. I will keep you in my prayers. Debbi

  14. I am so sorry, Kathy. I totally agree with the Airborn thing. No research but with my co-workers and I there have been very good results. It does not work against bronchitis,BTW. LAS

  21. I hope you're feeling better today! I think Airbornne works. I always take it when I'm beginning to feel something come on. Also plain aspirin works for me too.
